Chapter 369:
Amelia had been expecting Wyatt’s call, but instead, he surprised her with a delicately crafted small cake.
Her eyes lit up with joy when she saw him present it.
Wyatt’s spirits lifted at her reaction. Smiling, he pulled a small box from his pocket and handed it to her. “This is for you, too p>
Amelia opened it to find a tiny figurine, her smile widening. “A little figurine p>
She stood, grabbed her bag, and attached the figurine to the strap. After adjusting it, she turned to him with a playful smile. “How does it look p>
Wyatt examined it closely, then nodded approvingly. “It looks perfect p>
The palm-sized cake didn’t last long as Amelia finished it quickly.
Seeing her content expression, Wyatt chuckled. “Not even a bite for me p>
Feeling a bit awkward, Amelia replied, “I asked if you wanted some earlier, and you said no p>
“That was then. Now, I want a taste,” Wyatt said.

At his words, she tilted her head. “Should we go and buy another p>
“No need for that p>
“But you just p>
Before she could finish, Wyatt pulled her closer, his familiar warmth landing on her lips.
Amelia’s cheeks flushed instantly when she realized they were in her office with many people outside.
“The taste is indeed nice,” Wyatt teased.
As he leaned in to kiss her again, Amelia quickly raised a hand to stop him. “Not here!” She pushed at his shoulder, breathless.
His eyes sparkled with mischief as he saw her blush. “Then where would be appropriate p>
Glaring at his teasing grin, Amelia felt her face burn. Just as she was about to say that nowhere was appropriate, a knock came at the office door.
She quickly smoothed her clothes and called out, “Come in p>
“Mrs. Stewart, did you order cakes for the whole company?” Rocco asked.
“It wasn’t me,” Amelia replied, shaking her head.
Rocco frowned, puzzled. “The sender said they were for our company. If not you, then who p>
“I arranged it,” Wyatt said at that moment.
Amelia turned to him. “Cakes for everyone p>
Before he could respond, she added with a mock pout, “I thought you only brought me a cake p>
“I handpicked your cake and brought it here myself, sweetheart,” Wyatt said smoothly. His usually reserved tone carried a rare, flirtatious edge now.
Seeing this, Rocco quickly left, closing the door behind him.
Amelia, well aware of his affection for her, had only teased him for fun. She hadn’t expected herself to be teased like this.
Seeing her cheeks redden further, Wyatt drew her closer, his next kiss deeper than before.
At a crowded city-center intersection, Carlee stared at the endless traffic with growing irritation.
Before heading out, she had called Amelia to cancel the blind date, only to learn that the person she was supposed to meet, who was a friend of Wyatt’s, had already been informed of the date.
New to her role at the Larson Group, Carlee knew she couldn’t afford to offend someone in Wyatt’s circle, so she reluctantly drove to meet the person.
But rush hour had turned the city center into a gridlock.
When the car ahead finally moved, Carlee hit the gas to keep up.
Suddenly, the vehicle in front slammed to a stop at the intersection. Caught off guard, Carlee rear-ended it.
Despite the fact that she was wearing her seatbelt, the impact sent her bumping into the steering wheel, leaving her wincing in pain.
After regaining her composure, she unbuckled and stormed out of her car.
Spotting a man exit the vehicle before her, Carlee unleashed her anger. “What’s wrong with you? Do you even know how to drive? It’s an intersection! Why did you suddenly stop like that p>
Sanford’s initial flicker of remorse vanished at her outburst, replaced by a mocking smirk. “Did you not see the light p>
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Carlee exclaimed.
“The red light. Didn’t you see it p>
Carlee glanced at the traffic light, then snapped back, “You’re the one who’s blind! It was yellow just then, with three seconds before red. We could have made it if you hadn’t slammed on your brakes p>
“I stopped as any careful driver would. You didn’t slow down in time. If you can’t drive responsibly, get off the road. People like you are why Kretol’s traffic is a nightmare!” Sanford fired back.
