Amelia eyed Dayna, whose wrist was held tightly by Barrie. Irritation flashed in Amelia’s gaze.
No matter how Dayna fought against Barrie’s hold, she couldn’t escape. She finally snapped at Amelia, “Tell him to let go! I’m pregnant! Can you bear the consequences if something goes wrong with the baby p>
The news caught Amelia slightly off guard, yet she didn’t ask Barrie to release Dayna and instead asked, puzzled, “If you’re expecting, why are you here to see me instead of going to Jaxton p>
Dayna retorted furiously, “You’re really ruthless, Amelia! You arranged Jaxton’s removal from his position. How could you be so malicious p>
Refusing to dignify Dayna’s accusation, Amelia silently walked toward the apartment.
Dayna’s voice became desperate behind her. “Amelia, I understand you’re still bitter about Jaxton leaving you for me. But why should our innocent child pay for this? Please give Jaxton his position back, or our baby will be left without a father because of you p>
Amelia paused after hearing that, turning slowly back toward Dayna. “Explain to me exactly how reinstating Jaxton has anything to do with your child’s father being around. He lost his position; he didn’t lose his life p>
“But this has everything to do with you!” Dayna shouted.
Earlier that day, Dayna had gone to the hospital seeking Jaxton out. Ever since she left the Morrison household that day, she’d thought about Janessa’s suggestion of breaking off completely from Jaxton. However, discovering her pregnancy changed everything.
Afraid Janessa would immediately push her toward an abortion, Dayna didn’t dare tell her the news. Instead, she went straight to Jaxton’s hospital room to see him.

At first, Jaxton dismissed her revelation of her pregnancy as impossible, until Dayna reminded him bitterly of their reckless night.
Yet, even after accepting the baby as his, Jaxton remained indifferent, and he even casually proposed she abort the child.
As Dayna’s hope crumbled, Laura intervened, telling her that Jaxton would marry her—but only if she convinced Amelia to restore his lost CEO position at the Morrison Group.
After hearing this from Dayna, Amelia felt a surge of repulsion. Laura fully understood Jaxton’s culpability in all of this, yet shamelessly pushed Dayna to persuade her. Amelia had intended to end the conversation right then, but an idea suddenly came to mind. She turned to Dayna. “Do you genuinely wish to marry Jaxton p>
Before Dayna could reply, Amelia continued, “Because if you really want to, I know exactly how you can make it happen p>
“How?” Dayna’s eyes were wary, but curiosity won out.
Amelia leaned close, whispering her plan into Dayna’s ear. Dayna immediately shook her head. “Absolutely not! If the Morrisons discover it, they’ll never forgive me p>
Amelia shrugged and responded coolly, “I’ve already told you what to do. It’s up to you whether to act or not. As for restoring Jaxton’s position, I can’t do that. Even if I could, I wouldn’t help him p>
With that, Amelia turned and went inside the apartment. Dayna wanted to follow, but Barrie stopped her.
