Austin believed that if resolving the issue were that simple, he wouldn’t be this frustrated. Aitana had likely already taken the initiative by reaching out to that family directly, going around Austin.
Every year, near the end of the year, that family would send modest gifts to Kheley—homemade sausages and various fresh produce from the land. These gifts weren’t particularly valuable, but they were cherished by Austin’s grandpa. He always said the food was fresh and had the right taste, unlike those bought in stores.
