“Honey,” Kaiden called out as he rummaged through the walk-in closet, frustration creeping into his voice. “Where’s my favorite tie? I can’t find it anywhere. Can you help me find it p>
Dina’s eyes darkened, and a flash of disgust crossed her face. Her mind churned with frustration. She wasn’t Kaiden’s maid, so why was she expected to act like one? A wave of anger surged through her, nearly consuming her.

Dina forced a smile and walked over to the closet. “What is it p>
“Honey, I can’t find my favorite tie. Have you seen it anywhere?” Kaiden asked with a smile.
Dina quickly found it. “Here it is p>
Kaiden wrapped his arms around Dina. As she looked at his pudgy hands, disgust flashed across her face. Thankfully, she was facing away from him. Otherwise, he would have noticed the subtle shift in her expression.
“You’re so good to me, honey. What would I do without you?” Kaiden murmured.
Dina scoffed to herself. She had seen this act too many times before. The tie had been easy to find, but Kaiden had pretended to need her help to get her to do something for him.
This was Kaiden’s habit. Whenever she was upset, he’d act all caring to cover up his lack of action.
Dina knew better. Kaiden was all talk and no action. When it came to real issues, he was the first to run.

Back at home, Cayson looked at Yelena and asked, “Yelena, why did you agree to Grandma’s request so easily? You have no idea what that family is like. They just showed up out of nowhere and immediately brought up the old agreement from decades ago. I’m sure they’re struggling and only want money p>
Yelena replied, “If they just want money, that’ll be easy to handle p>
Cayson stared at her momentarily before reaching out to touch her forehead. “Yelena, are you okay? Are you sick p>
Yelena swiftly dodged Cayson’s hand. She was perfectly fine.
“I’m fine. No need to worry,” Yelena told Cayson. “But it’s not a solution to keep avoiding them now that the matter has been brought up. If they’re really just after money, it’ll be easy. But I’m worried they might want something more p>
People were unpredictable. Despite their grandfather’s close ties to that family, years had passed, and no one could be certain how things had changed. The timing of their visit could only mean they had a purpose for coming now.
Since avoiding it wasn’t an option, Yelena had no choice but to handle the situation as it came.
