She carefully compared the photos on the ID and student card to the man before her. Satisfied, she handed them back.
“Why are you following Tessa?” she asked again.

“I’ve got my eyes on you. Just remember, if anything happens to Tessa, you’ll answer to me,” Yelena warned Lowe.
Lowe nodded solemnly. “I understand,” he promised.
After Lowe walked away, Yelena didn’t immediately leave. Instead, she made a call to Brody, instructing him to arrange for someone to discreetly keep an eye on Tessa. She wouldn’t relax until she knew Tessa was safe.

I’ve got other things to handle, so I’m heading out now.” John quickly exited, leaving the swinging office door as the only sign of his abrupt departure.
Domenic stood there, bemused by John’s antics. John seemed to thrive on stirring up trouble, unlike Domenic, who preferred to remain under the radar, especially around Austin.
During a break in his meeting, Cayson called his sister. “Yelena, you’ll represent the company at the design competition. Let me treat you to dinner today,” he proposed, eager to celebrate her upcoming role.
Yelena couldn’t understand why everyone was making such a fuss. It was just a small competition, hardly a cause for concern.
“Cayson, I have to discuss some work with my colleague tonight, so I’ll be late. I’m afraid I won’t make it for dinner,” Yelena explained.
