Yelena’s breath hitched for a moment. She had suspected as much.
It seemed indeed to be about the young heir suffering from the poison.
Though complex, the poison could be cured—if she chose to take the case.
Her thoughts wandered briefly to the jade she had lost out on at the auction, and an idea sparked in her mind.
“I’ll take the case,” she said, her voice smooth, “but only on one condition. My consultation fee is that jade from the auction. Let’s see if he’s willing to part with it p>
Brody blinked in surprise but nodded. “Alright, I’ll get in touch with him right away p>
It was clear that Yelena’s mind was still completely set on that jade.
She was nothing if not relentless in her pursuits.
Once the herbs were packed up and ready to go, Yelena prepared to leave.
Meanwhile, Brody wasted no time contacting Domenic.
Domenic couldn’t contain his excitement when he got the call. Finally, Austin had a glimmer of hope.
But when he heard the condition, Domenic paused, momentarily taken aback. He quickly passed the details on to Austin.
Austin, too, was caught off guard. The jade was rare, yes, but his intention had simply been to see if it could help with his condition.
Now, with the miraculous doctor Yancy willing to offer treatment, the jade seemed like a small price to pay. Domenic quickly relayed Austin’s acceptance to Brody.
And just like that, the deal was sealed.

Yelena had one request—she asked Brody to arrange a time that worked best, preferably over the weekend. Her university life was about to kick off, and she wanted to make sure everything was set before that.
Before long, Esteban’s birthday celebration was upon them.
The party was scheduled to begin at noon. Bright and early, Bella started preparing, fussing over her hair and makeup before slipping into her gown.
The Mitchell family was a powerhouse in Eighfast, and it was expected that all the city’s elites would be at Esteban’s birthday party, eager to flaunt their status and one-up each other.
After finishing breakfast, Yelena headed upstairs to get dressed. But when she went to grab her white gown, she found a glaring tear right at the waistline.
It was a sizable slit—too obvious to miss.
