“Got it,” Yelena replied, recalling her promise to treat Austin. Over the past few days, she’d already prepared everything she needed. Balancing her new school schedule with the creation of the detox pills had taken some effort, but she was ready.
Saturday morning came quietly. Yelena rose early, her routine swift and efficient. After freshening up, she informed Donna of her plans and stepped out the door.
The address she received led to Eighfast’s most prestigious private hospital, a place synonymous with exclusivity and elite care. Opting for speed and discretion, Yelena chose to take a taxi rather than the limousine Austin had arranged for her. Drawing unnecessary attention had never been her style—she preferred to keep things simple and low-key.
At the hospital entrance, Domenic, Austin’s assistant, waited anxiously. His eyes scanned the area, looking for any sign of the mysterious doctor Yancy. He was about to check his phone again when a young girl approached with light, confident steps. She wore a simple white T-shirt and a pair of old jeans, her figure slender yet graceful, her long legs giving her an effortless air of elegance.

Yelena studied him for a moment, her expression cool and measured. “You’re Domenic Murphy, right?” she asked, her voice steady but tinged with curiosity. She glanced briefly at the information Brody had given her, wondering if there’d been an error.

Domenic’s mind reeled. He had always imagined Yancy as someone experienced, a figure of authority, and undoubtedly of a certain age. Yancy had to be at least over forty, if not older.
The notion of her being this young girl—she didn’t even look twenty—was almost laughable. Yet, as he studied her, something made him pause. There was a sharpness in her gaze, a calm steadiness in her demeanor, and an aura of mystery that didn’t fit her youthful appearance. Despite these traits, Domenic still struggled to reconcile her with the legendary Yancy.
“That’s just a pseudonym,” Yelena said, her tone nonchalant, as if her reputation were of no concern to her.
Domenic stiffened at her words, his instincts urging caution. His boss’ life was on the line, and this was no situation to gamble with. If this girl truly was Yancy, offending her could have catastrophic consequences.
Swallowing his doubts, Domenic motioned for Yelena to follow, leading her into the building with careful respect. His nerves prickled with unease, but he trusted the person who had made the arrangement.
Whoever had organized this meeting wouldn’t risk playing games with someone like Austin Barton. No one dared cross him—not if they valued their own lives.
