Once inside, Bella held the bear up, marveling at its delicate details and flawless design.
How on earth did Yelena even get her hands on something like this? Could Yelena possibly be a diamond-tier Mode Vogue member? Impossible! Even Bella herself didn’t have that membership card.
“Could Dad and Mom have bought it for her?” Bella thought. The notion made her seethe with indignation, but she quickly dismissed it. No matter how she got it, it didn’t matter anymore. The genuine bear was in her possession now. Besides, someone like Yelena only deserved the fake one.
But then, an odd sensation interrupted her triumphant thoughts. Bella’s skin began to itch—first a faint irritation, but then a fiery, unbearable prickle. She scratched at her arms, her neck, her face, but the relief was fleeting. Her skin turned red and blotchy, stinging with every touch. The irritation spread like wildfire.
Her face, her hands, her entire body felt as though it were on fire. The more she scratched, the worse it became, a maddening cycle of pain and discomfort. Bella’s breath quickened as panic set in. She stumbled to the mirror, her heart racing.
