Austin responded, “I’ve already explained, Lena is otherwise busy p>
“Busy? What could a cat possibly be busy with? Is it chasing mice? Have you got mice in your new house already p>
Austin was not fond of mice, and his eyebrows furrowed as he explained, “No, that’s not it. Lena was actually taken by Yelena.” He paused, realizing how his words might sound and how Maggie might misconstrue Yelena’s actions. To clarify, he added, “Lena just wouldn’t leave Yelena’s arms p>
Maggie didn’t show any signs of anger. In fact, she was pleased and said, “The daughter-in-law I chose for myself is certainly the finest.” Austin found himself speechless.
“Daughter-in-law? There’s no romantic relationship between me and Yelena… yet p>
Maggie then responded, “Let’s go. I need to find Lena and Yelena.” Maggie rose from her bed with ease, showing no signs of injury.

“Monica, what are you doing here? Your leg’s broken. Weren’t you supposed to stay in bed for further observation?” Maggie asked, her gaze fixed on Monica.
Monica’s smile wavered slightly. It seemed as though she had something to say but was too embarrassed to voice it. Maggie, ever perceptive, picked up on it instantly. “Monica, if there’s something you need, just say it,” she offered gently.
Maggie reminded herself of the promise she had made to 100k after Monica. It was only natural for her to do everything in her power to fulfill it.
