Its fifth floor, dedicated to high-end fashion, boasted boutiques carrying the most coveted international brands.
Yelena stepped off the elevator and made her way to Moda Style, one of the most talked-about boutiques on the floor.
Moda Style, though a relatively new name in the fashion world, had already made waves globally.
Its innovative designs had earned it a reputation as a trendsetter, catering to the elite—socialites, celebrities, and rich kids alike.
Owning a Moda Style creation was more than a fashion statement; it was a symbol of exclusivity and status.
Yelena entered the boutique and gravitated toward the new arrivals section.
As she thumbed through the garments, two familiar figures stepped into the boutique.
Sonya’s brow furrowed as her gaze landed on Yelena. “Mom, why is Yelena here p>
Tatiana let out a sharp, derisive laugh. “She’s probably here to stroke her vanity. Eyeing without buying, I’m sure p>
“Isn’t she from some backwater place? Why doesn’t she just go back there? Does she still think she can just barge back into our lives p>
“She wishes,” Tatiana replied dismissively, waving her hand as though to brush the thought aside. “But I won’t let that happen. Now, don’t let her ruin our day. We’re here to find you some fabulous new outfits p>
With that, Tatiana steered Sonya deeper into the Moda Style boutique, her focus shifting back to their shopping spree. Sonya, however, wasn’t ready to let the moment pass without taking her shot.
She turned abruptly and walked toward Yelena, her voice laced with mockery. “Yelena, what a surprise running into you here! Are you sure you’re in the right place? Do you even know how much these clothes cost p>

Yelena paused mid-motion, her fingers lightly brushing the fabric of a dress she’d been considering. She never would have gone out had she known today would turn out like this!
“Can’t you read? The prices are right there,” Yelena said flatly, barely sparing Sonya a glance as she continued flipping through the rack.
“Oh, I see them just fine,” Sonya replied, her lips curling into a sneer. “But honestly, Yelena, can you afford anything here? I mean, do you even have enough to eat these days p>
Yelena paused briefly but kept her focus on the clothes, refusing to rise to the bait.
Sonya’s gaze flitted to Yelena’s trench coat. Its sharp lines and understated elegance practically screamed exclusivity. A twinge of envy surged through her. She tightened her grip on her coffee cup, her mind suddenly whirring with mischief.
“Yelena,” Sonya said, her voice taking on a mockingly sweet edge as she stepped closer. “I’m just trying to be kind. You know, looking out for you p>
Before Yelena could react, Sonya’s hand shot out, gripping her arm. The motion sent coffee splashing across the pristine white of Yelena’s trench coat.
