Chapter 118
Chapter 121
Kieran’s POV
First of all, not only does this person look like me…something I was still finding it hard to believe, and now, he also knows about Lylah, a secret we kept secured for her safety. All this was driving me insane.
“I’m glad Luna Kaia is okay, but why do you think he showed up?” Caleb asked.
“And looks like you? Do you think Nessa did this to throw us off balance?” Ryder, who hadn’t spoken until now, asked. “And the thing with her smell and ability to mindlink, has to be a spell p>
He was right, but considering the fact that no one knew the extent of her powers and she wasn’t eighteen yet, it was hard to conclude that there wasn’t someone else that we weren’t paying attention to.
“Caleb,” I called, “get the footage of the Alphas’ meeting. Preferably one that focuses on our entrance. Don’t miss a thing, he has to be in one of them.” I ordered and he immediately nodded, standing up.
“I should get that done in a few hours…this asshole is getting on my nerves.” He said.
There was no doubt I was going to strangle him the moment I laid hands on him. Caleb left, leaving Ryder who was lost in thoughts. “I think it makes sense now why we couldn’t find the people who shot Nessa.” He said.
Raising my brows, I asked him to explain what he meant. We already knew that they were not real people and she only did it to buy some time for whatever they were planning.
“She suspected there was a healer in the Pack.” He replied and King growled, pacing in my head. Ryder continued, explaining what happened the night of the full moon when Caleb was shot. How she’d been curious about Kaia’s wolf.
I nodded, since she knew the effectiveness of the poison, and that Caleb was shot, it was only normal that she expected him to die but seeing him alive would only spike her curiosity.
“So she shot herself just to find out.” I said and he nodded.
“She’s crazier than we thought.” He added. “Do you want to do anything about Aiden?” He asked.
“We should torture himself slowly, starting from his fucking hands that touched her.” King said, “and then feed him his dick…he’d fucking like that p>
That was an amazing idea which we would carry out very soon but we also needed to get to the end of this lookalike situation, which would become clearer once Caleb returns with the footage.
“That reminds me, did you talk to Dylan at the meeting p>
“Yes Alpha.” He replied, “but he left, he said he needed to talk to you p>
Before we had to run to Kaia, I remembered hearing him say something like that but amidst saving Kaia and making sure she was okay, he was the last person I was thinking about.
“Get him here.” I ordered.
“What? I mean why p>
“I’m not taking chances on anything that has to do with the safety of my mate and pup. So get him here p>
“Hm…yes Alpha.” He said, also standing up to leave.
Once he was gone, I rested my back against the couch, my hand rubbing my temple. With everything that was going on, it was hard not to develop a constant headache.
I had spent most of last night running, trying to clear my head if there was any clue that I was missing. But nothing stood out for me and all I thought about was how I had been so close to losing Kaia again.
“You’re avoiding the bone of contention here.” King said.
A frown appeared on my face, “what are you talking about?” I asked, irritated that he would think when he saw everything that we were putting in place.
“What if it’s not a witch spell and he actually looks like you? And this is all some sort of revenge…not hurting our mate when he easily could’ve is all part of his grand scheme p>
I paused, my chest tightened at the thought of him actually hurting her. “So you think Dad cheated on mom p>
“Heck, it could be mom for all I care.” He said. “We can’t conclude everything is somehow connected to a witch because Nessa is one p>
Without waiting, I pushed myself out
of the couch and out of the office. It
was going to be so disappointing i my Dad, who loved my mom so much cheated on her. I didn’t really care about her right now, but it still would be disappointing.
King cleared his throat, “what are you doing p>
“Confronting him? Do you have a better idea?” I asked. We couldn’t possibly sit
around, waiting for answers to drop in front of us.
“I guess that’ll work for now.” He murmured, as I matched to my parents place p>
an action that was quickly turning into a routine.
My mom was all dressed and
leaving the house but upon seeing me, she waited, her eyes following my every step as I drew closer to her. “Kieran darling!” She called cheerfully and my brows furrowed in confusion. “How’s that beautiful mate of yours?” She asked.
“Tone it down Mom, let’s not give each other a heart attack p>
She rolled her eyes, wanting to wave it off, but she changed her mind once she saw the look on my face that I wasn’t joking she kept still. She might have apologized, but it doesn’t mean the way she treated Kaia had been forgiven or forgotten,
“You can go wherever you are going, I’m here to see Dad p>
Not waiting for her response, I went towards the house, pushing the door open and shutting it behind me. My Dad came into the room from their bedroom. He wasn’t in the least surprised to see me.
“Hi son.” He said, moving to sit down. “You know, your mom and I are thinking of traveling around a bit, traveling the world p>
“The Pack is in chaos and you want to travel?” My voice came out higher, and he raised his brows.
“I take it the meeting didn’t change much p>
I wasn’t in the mood to receive counsel from him when there was a high possibility he was the root of the problem in the first place.
“When were you going to tell me you have a son?” I asked and King snorted. “You mean another son p>
“When was I going to tell you that I gave birth to you?” My Dad’s response came as King broke out in laughter. I’m glad one of us finds this funny.
“Your other son. My brother p>
Saying that even sounded weird and for the sake of my sanity, I hope it was a spell that brought about whatever resemblance we might share.
“This is by far the craziest reason you’ve come here.” He laughed, like I just cracked a funny joke. “You think I’m crazy to cheat on your mom…my mate?” He asked, the smile slowly disappearing from his face.
I nearly bought the act, but I knew no one was going to confess to having a son
and risk losing his mate but I needed to see his reaction and now that I’ve seen it,
I left, ignoring my Dad’s call to explain what I was talking about.
“Caleb,” I called, and his response was immediate. “Yes Alpha p>
“I need you to watch my Dad, or put someone on it. I want to know his every movement.” I said, hopefully my ‘accusation’ pushes him to act carelessly. He didn’t ask questions as he agreed and I ended the mindlink. Ryder was waiting in my office when I got back, so lost in his thoughts that he barely heard me come in. “I need you to follow my Mom and report her movements to me.” His brows narrowed slightly, but he nodded.
“Have you spoken to Dylan p>
“I can’t seem to reach him through his phone. I’ll keep trying.” He replied.
“I don’t care if you have to visit their goddess forsaken Pack and bring him here,
do it. But I want him here by-” I was interrupted by the door opening.
Just the person I wanted to see.
