Chapter 8
Kaia’s POV
Dani’s energy was unmatched. We ran into a few people…literally and when they complained, she glared at them like it was their fault.
As we stepped into the Mall’s spacious interior, it felt like we were in a different dimension. People moving around with different agendas. Everyone was talking about on the top of their voice making everywhere a bit noisy but at the same time, peaceful.
“We’re going to start with dresses and I know just the perfect store.” Dani said.
I heard Kieran’s voice before I could respond, “hey.” He called softly. “Get as many things as you want, okay?” He continued when I turned back. I managed to nod before Dani pulled me away.
“With a body like yours, I’m going to enjoy dressing you up p>
“I don’t…I don’t think so p>
All I heard about my body was how fat I was and how men were going to find me unattractive. And now, in less than a day of knowing me, she’d complimented me more than anyone close to me.
“This is going to be perfect, try it.” Dani said, putting an end to my thoughts. “Try this one too.” She said, adding another set of dresses to the one I was holding. She showed me the dressing room before going back to check out more dresses.
I wriggled into the first dress, the silky fabric sliding smoothly over my skin. As I zipped up the back, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and couldn’t help but smile. The dress was a vibrant red, and it made my eyes sparkle. I struck a pose, admiring the way the dress hugged my curves. Next, I tried on the flowy white sundress, feeling the delicate straps dig gently into my shoulders. It wasn’t tight, but it was perfect.
I tried the same for the other clothes, shorts and even shirts.
“Do they fit?” Dani asked, peeping through the curtains.
“They did. They’re all really nice.” I admitted, a frown appearing on my face before
I could stop it. I tried to mask it but she already did.
“What’s wrong, Luna? You don’t like them?” She asked.
I shook my head quickly. “It’s not that. They’re all nice, I don’t think I can choose just one p>
She laughed like I said something funny, making me confused.
“Who said anything about choosing? If you want the whole mall, the Alpha would find a way to transport them to the pack house.” She said.
“But they’re really expensive p>
She laughed again, “Everything here belongs to him and this isn’t the only one he owns.” She explained and my jaw dropped.
“But he’s really p>
“Young right? He became an Alpha quite early and has been working hard to make sure the pack doesn’t lack anything.” She said, “He also didn’t stop talking about his mate. We all thought that whoever his mate was, she was lucky. Now I know he’s the lucky one p>
I smiled, “she’ll change her mind once she gets to know me p>
“You really cannot accept the fact that you’re worth it, can you?” My wolf asked, her usual teasing was gone and a serious tone in its stead.
“You were not there when Aiden rejected us. I’m sure if we were, he wouldn’t have done that.” I argued.
“Did he really reject us? Because if he did, I missed it p>
“What are you talking about?” I asked, but she was gone, leaving me to ponder about what she meant.
Aiden didn’t just reject us, he humiliated us and chose someone else over us again and again. But she wasn’t there when all of them happened.
“You were gone for a while, was that your wolf p>
I nodded, “we don’t agree on some things p>
“Same, Tara has a mind of her own.” She replied.
“Tara?” I repeated.
“My wolf. What’s your wolf’s name?” She asked, and I looked at her in confusion. “She doesn’t have a name.” I replied and she frowned.
“Of course she does, that’s the first thing she’ll tell you when you shift. Or you can ask her.” She added quickly when she saw the look on my face.
“Ooh p>
Without dwelling on it, she went back out and returned with another set of clothes. This time jeans and shorts in different colors.
And with each one that I wore, I fell in love with it. About three hours later and more dresses than I could count, we were done…well with that section.
“Now, we just need formal dresses and lingerie p>
“But we already picked out some p>
No matter how much I insisted, she still picked out some dresses and had me present myself to Kieran and the expression on his face when I did sent shivers down my spine.
“Fuck! You look breathtaking, Bella.” He groaned when I wore a red dress. It was long and it had a slit in front that stopped mid thigh. It hugged my curves and I could tell he was struggling not to hold me.
For my nightwear and underwear, I shut down Dani before she even suggested showing it to Kieran. Even without him there, I was already a blushing mess. “I’m so tired.” I moaned.
“We haven’t even gotten to the shoe section.” She reminded me.
“How are you still full of energy? I feel like I’m going to collapse if I don’t eat something p>
“Tell your mate to get you something to eat while I finish here. And you’ll get used it with a few more trips.” she assured me. And even if that was a probability, I still looked forward to it.
Kieran came towards me the moment he saw me, “are you done?” He asked and shook my head.
“I’m hungry.” I murmured shyly.
He looked around, before turning to me. “I’ll get something for you. Go meet Dani.” He didn’t move until I got to the place I left Dani.
But she wasn’t there. And instead of just standing there, I went in search of her.
“Hello beautiful Someone called but I kept walking because apart from Kieran and Caleb that I came with, I didn’t know anyone else.
But he was persistent and kept following me until he was close enough to touch
me.
“Beautiful, you shouldn’t ignore your admirers. It’s rude, you know.” He continued. “Sorry.” I said, stopping to hear what he had to say.
“So what’s your name?” He asked, slightly adjusting his angle so he could get a good look at my face.
When I didn’t respond, it triggered him. “Come on baby, “Baby p>
“Don’t call me that!” I told him and he arched his brows, and licked his lips.
“I just want to show you a good time. You’re going to enjoy it as much as I will p>
“I’m not interested, thank you.” But the man wasn’t taking no for an answer as he grabbed my arm, and pulled me close. The once friendly look in his eyes was gone.
“I just want a straight answer, what’s your name p>
“Let me go!” I cried instead, but he pulled me closer, his breath fanning my face.
I tried so hard to pull away, tears forming at the corner of my eyes but he didn’t seem worried about that.
I struggled to free myself, but he was strong. He was dragging me further into the mall and people cleared the way. Some people tried to intervene, but one look from them kept them in their spot.
But all of a sudden, his grip on my hand loosened and instead of being beside
me, he was across from me, fear written all over his face.
“How dare you
put your hands on her?” Kieran growled.
Relief flooded my veins, and I didn’t know when I threw myself into his arms.
