Chapter 7

Kaia’s POV

I groaned, slowly opening my eyes. However, my heart skipped a beat when I noticed Kieran sitting on the bed beside me with his eyes fixed on me.

“What the fuck is he doing here?!” I screamed inwardly, trying to steady my breath. He was staring at me, but in a moment, he spoke.

“Good morning,” his gentle voice rang, and my wolf purred. “I can’t believe that even now she was turned on.” but I lowered my head, and remained concerned about why he was seated there.

“He probably spent the night here. Can’t you smell his scent all over the room?” My wolf spoke, but I remained quiet, trying to steady my breath. “He greeted you, don’t just stay silent, say something!” My wolf urged, and I instantly shut her up.

“Stop being pushy p>

She kept quiet just as I had told her, and I heaved before raising my eyes to meet

his gaze.

“G-good morning p>

Somehow, my response seemed to light him up because he smiled, but it didn’t really matter, so I tried to lower my head when he asked another question.

“Did you sleep well?” He asked, and time, I answered quickly because I also had a question for him.

I nodded, “Yes, thank you.” I paused, biting my lower lips because I was nervous. “Did you spend the night here p>

Kieran answered, “yes. I wanted to watch you sleep. I’m sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable when you woke up p>

I hummed, hoping it wouldn’t get more awkward than this. My wolf was simply angry at me. According to her, she kept screaming ‘you aren’t acting right!’ What else did she expect me to do?

He itched his head almost like he was nervous. “Um, I’ll send in Maria to get you ready after which you’ll have breakfast. After that, we can go shopping p>

My ears tingled when I heard shopping, and just to be certain I wasn’t hearing things, I repeated it “Shopping?” I asked, and he nodded, making my eyes widen.

Did I just hear him say shopping? I have never gone shopping in my life. Everything I owned was either something someone in the pack didn’t want again or my stepmom was feeling generous and got things for me when she went shopping with other pack members.

“Yes shopping. We need to get you some clothes. The one you’re wearing belongs to Caleb’s mate, Dani p>

I nodded gently. His eyes lingered on me before he finally stood up and walked towards the door.

Once there, Kieran grabbed the doorknob, taking a brief pause. His back was turned towards me, but he arched his neck over his shoulders.

“You look pretty even while you sleep p>

Those were his last words before he left the room. As soon as he left Maria came in. She helped me get ready by preparing a bath for me, and even brought in another dress for me.

“You see why he said you need to go shopping. We definitely need clothes.” My wolf murmured.

I rolled my eyes, and did what was necessary. Got dressed, ate the food that was brought in while I was in the bathroom getting ready. Once I was done, I waited for Kieran to come get me.

The soft taps on the door pulled me out of my thoughts, and a few seconds later, Kieran entered, wearing a different outfit from what he had on earlier. My eyes drank him in. He was wearing a shirt with two of the upper buttons undone and it was obvious he works out.

“I wish I could run my my wolf started, but I stopped her before she went any further.

“You really don’t know when to stop, do you?” But she just rolled her eyes.

If Kieran noticed that I was staring at him, he didn’t act like it. “Have you had breakfast?” He asked, taking the seat beside me.

“Yes. Thank you for asking,” I responded, trying to avoid his gaze. His closeness sent a flutter through my chest.

“That’s fine. Are you ready to go now? I have made arrangements for the car p>

Without wasting much time, I nodded. And as much as I tried to hide it, I was really excited. I’ve always wanted to experience the freedom of having to choose what I wanted. And the girls back in my former pack spend days talking about how they couldn’t go back, even though they spend most of their weekends going on shopping sprees.

“Are you excited because of that, or because you’ll be spending time with a mate who actually loves you p>

I rolled my eyes and just ignored her. He led me through a hall where several people were seated and once they noticed us, they all fell quiet, their eyes

following us and subconsciously, I moved closer to Kieran.

He held out his palm, “Can I hold your hands?” He asked.

“Yes! You Bet. Take his strong hands and hold it close to you. He’s making his first contact, don’t make him feel bad.” she urged me. In order to get her to shut her mouth, I took it and I felt a warm feeling on my inside.

His hand was warm and it was the only thing I could think of as I allowed him to lead me to wherever he was taking me.

We finally got outside where a big black car was waiting for us. The man who helped me when the warriors caught me was standing in front of the car and a girl, who doesn’t seem to be much older than me was standing beside him, while wearing a wide smile.

Kieran was still holding my hand when we approached them, and a part of me was secretly enjoying it.

“Alpha.” Both of them greeted, bowing their heads before turning to me. “Luna.” My eyes widened, and I looked up at Kieran who had a smile on his face.

“You’ve met my Beta, Caleb before, this is his mate, Dani.” Kieran introduced.

I nodded, “nice to meet you p>

My wolf groaned in my head, clearly displeased with my choice of words.

“I thought you’d be more comfortable if she came with us. And you can also do the things…erm.” He looked at Dani for help and she shook her head, clearly amused.

“I’ll take it from here, Alpha.” Dani said and soon enough, she was by my side, and Kieran finally let go of me and I immediately missed the warmth his hand provided.

“You’re so pretty.” She gushed, taking my arms like we were best friends. I didn’t mind though and she seemed nice.

I smiled at her shyly. Apart from Kieran calling me beautiful the previous day, she was the second. And coming from someone who looked like she just stepped out of a magazine cover herself, made it even better.

Caleb whispered something to Kieran who nodded softly.

“Let’s go.” He said.

Kieran opened the door to the back seat for me before going to the front with Caleb, who was going to be driving.

“We’re going to enjoy this.” Dani said, and her excitement was contagious and soon enough, I was wearing a smile of my own.

“You have a beautiful smile.” She complimented and I looked away, a deep blush forming on my face.

“Dani, can you try not to make my mate fall in love with you?” Kieran asked, a hint of a smile in his voice.

“I can’t promise you that, Alpha. She’s too beautiful.” A playful growl left Caleb’s lips.

Dani snorted, “Calm down, I’m all yours p>

Throughout the drive to the city, the three of them made light jokes. I could tell that even though he was the Alpha, they were also friends. I watched them quietly, smiling when something funny was said. I didn’t feel left out in any way and although all this was a new experience for me, it felt good to be among a group and not getting teased about something.

We drove for more than thirty minutes before Dani exclaimed excitedly. “We’re here p>

As I looked out the window, I was amazed by the huge shopping mall. The building was made of shiny glass and steel, and it seemed to go on forever. I watched as people walked into the mall, looking excited or determined. Some were alone, while others were with families or friends.

As I looked at all the people, I started to feel even more excited. I had never seen

a place like this before, and I couldn’t wait to go inside.

Kieran opened the door for me and I muttered a quiet thank you before taking my attention back to the building in front of me.

“Let’s go.” He said, and I nodded, walking beside him.

“Look alive, people! It’s the place of happiness!” Dani yelled, causing some people

to look at us but she was beyond caring.

She held my hand and dragged me along with her and I could hear Kieran yelling

for her to be careful while trying to catch up with us.

I’m definitely going to enjoy this.
