Chapter 82

Allie’s POV

That stupid thug!

That handsome stupid wolf!

“How did he get himself injured for crying out loud?” I thought, hissing as the image of his wounds flashed through my head one more time.

He couldn’t just stay still, instead, he chose to go around, making people worry unnecessarily about him. He should’ve sat training out if he couldn’t handle it, Kieran would’ve let him off…but no, he was trying to prove a point.

“When you say people, you mean yourself right?” Rhea, my wolf asked, and I frowned.

“Are you going to deny the fact that you were worried about him p>

“I mean, when you put it that way p>

I snorted, “I didn’t put it anyway, you’re just in denial.” She kept quiet, knowing I was right.

Since the day that he ended things with me, I’ve tried my best to avoid running into him but that was almost impossible seeing how we work closely together and he was close to Kaia. Sometimes, I even envy their relationship.

I didn’t mention it to the girls because they were happy I was moving on. At first, they’d been careful not to mention anything that concerned him, but I assured them that it was fine…it wasn’t, but how else was I supposed to get information about how he was doing?

And if there was anything I hated more than anything, it was seeing him in pain. But no, he went and got himself injured.

As I went back to the house where I would meet Dani, I wondered if Kaia was done treating him and if he was in pain.

“I really need to get a grip on myself.” I thought. “It’s not like I can force him to like me if he said he was done p>

My thoughts were all over the place even when I met Dani, and she kept looking at me, trying to figure out what could’ve gone wrong in the time that I was away.

“It’s just one of those days, you know, with how hard their training these days are, it’s only normal that there’s more work to do.” I told her. She squinted her eyes, moving closer to my face but with a hand on her forehead, I stopped her from moving any closer.

“Are you sure?” She asked.

I nodded, “Kaia is still…uhmm, treating a patient. She should be done soon p>

“Why are they training hard? They already train everyday.” Nessa asked, curiosity flashing through her eyes.

My head turned to meet Dani, who also wore the same expression I had on my face…one that totally gave away the fact that we were hiding something.

But it was for her good, she doesn’t need to be worrying about someone trying to shoot her with a substance that would kill her faster than she could call for help.

“You know Alpha Kieran likes to be thorough? He doesn’t want them to relax just because we are not under any attack.” Dani said.

She nodded and went back to what she was doing. How she was curious was beyond me. I let out a breath I didn’t realize I was holding as Dani also turned her attention to the child in her arms while I just sat there.

I was distracted by a mental nudge, like someone was trying to get my attention. It wasn’t Dani and definitely wasn’t Kieran who’d rather talk to his mate.

“Allie, can you hear me?” Kaia’s familiar voice filled my ears. My head darts around the room, looking for her.

Yup! Thinking about that stupid wolf was turning me into a crazy person.

Rhea snorted loudly, “won’t you hear his voice instead?” She asked.

“That’s the point of being crazy, it doesn’t make any sense.” I told her, just as Kaia’s voice came again, and this time, I was sure it was her.

“It is either I am drunk or I can actually hear Kaia in my head p>

She laughed, “you’re not drunk, I’m really talking to you p>

“Oh my gosh! How is this possible? Is this a prank? How are you talking to me?” I asked, not failing to notice the look Dani was giving me.

“I’m going to answer that later, right now, bring yourself to my brother’s room and come alone.” She said, and was gone.

I paused, “what is even going on right now?” I haven’t gotten over the fact that I embarrassed myself in front of him the first time we met. He was handsome no doubt and very drool worthy.

Pushing myself off the couch, I told Dani I needed to get something from my room and if she called out my lie, she didn’t question it and just nodded as I made my way to Dylan’s room.

I took a deep breath, “this better be good.” I thought and knocked on the door.

Kaia had a wide smile on her face, while Dylan wore a confused look…it wasn’t just me then.

Unlike the first time I met him, he looked tired, and I guessed it was from the training. My eyes landed on his muscles bulging underneath his shirt. Only when Kaia tapped my arm did I look away.

“Seriously, what is wrong with me p>

“Allie.” Dylan called, and a smile made it’s way to face as I murmured what I hoped sounded like a greeting.

I was suffering from the side effects of being alone for what was considered normal.

“Now,” Kaia started, “I know you’re wondering what is going on here, it’s not that difficult. I see a beautiful friendship…developing between the two of you, and I thought it would be a waste to ignore it p>

Our heads jerked to her, brows furrowed in confusion, “What exactly was she going on about p>

“It doesn’t have to end with friendship per se, it can evolve into something more.” She continued, and with each word, Dylan’s eyes was filled with amusement.

“And Allie, I know i slapped my hand over her mouth before she could continue.

“I’m trying to help you here, I told Ryder you moved on with Dylan. You don’t have to date him, trust me, his head looks better on his neck than on the floor when Kieran finds out.” She said through our mindlink.

I rolled my eyes and let her go. “She’s like that sometimes.” I said to Dylan, who nodded.

Kaia just shrugged, and said something along the lines of how we were playing down her skills. She left after making sure I wasn’t planning on running after her once she leaves.

For a few minutes, two of us stared at each other without saying anything. His eyes taking in every part of me…or I was just imagining it.

I swallowed hardly, “Sorry about her, she can be I started before he interrupted

me.

“I know how she can be, and it’s okay.” He said, offering me a smile that made me forget how to breathe for a moment.

“But she’s not wrong, we can be friends, except if you have a mate that’ll feel threatened by our ‘friendship’ or something.” He asked, raising his brows at friendship as he began to losen his buttons.

“Uhmm…no mate, definitely no mate p>

He flashed me another smile, “make yourself comfortable then, I’ll just take a quick shower p>

“Wait! He wants to take a shower with us in the room?” I asked Rhea, who purrs softly, “Hopefully he takes off his clothes in here p>

I could swear that just a moment ago, we were discussing how we missed Ryder

and now, she was…we were drooling over someone else.

“Yea, I need help.” I thought, just as he pulled his shirt off.

Kill me!
