Chapter 105
Kaia’s POV
(From when she found out she was pregnant)
“You’re pregnant.” Kieran said.
My hand immediately went to my stomach, “Pregnant?” I asked, my eyes widening in shock.
Kieran nodded, a proud smile etched on his face as he stared at me, I could tell that he was struggling to keep his excitement in. But I couldn’t share the excitement as panic gripped me, my conversation with Lylah before I insisted on healing Nessa came flooding back.
“Was this why she was warning me?” I thought, “she could’ve told me p>
Noticing the frown on my face, Kieran’s smile slowly vanished as he moved closer to me. “I’m sorry he started and my head snapped to him. What was he sorry for?
“I should’ve been more careful p>
“What are you talking about?” I asked, lifting his chin to look at me.
“It’s okay if you’re not ready to have a baby yet…I should’ve asked p>
Without letting him complete his words, I kissed his lips and I felt his body stiffened. Pulling away, I caressed his arm, “there’s nothing more that I want than to have our kids…ones that look exactly like you running around the pack.” I told him, and his smile returned.
“Really? So you’re happy p>
“Of course I’m happy, it’s our child.” I replied. “I’m worried I’m not going to be a good mom.” I added sincerely, my hand falling to my side.
“Bella, I’ve seen you with the kids at the child care, you’re going to be an amazing mother p>
I shook my head, “I don’t listen. I..i’m I swallowed hard. “I put our child in danger and it’s not even out yet p>
His brows furrowed as he stared at me trying to understand what I was talking about. So I explained what happened with Lylah when I wanted to heal Nessa and the way she’d been acting differently…I didn’t even think about it nor did I notice any changes in my body.
“What if something had happened to our child?” I asked, I could feel my eyes start to hurt from fighting back tears.
“Bella, you didn’t know and it’s okay.” Kieran assured me. “And you couldn’t have left Nessa to die knowing you could help. I’m sure Lylah understands that and is also just as worried as you are.” He finished, easing my tension.
I threw my arms around him, a bit relieved. “We’re going to have a baby!” I whispered happily.
Funny how only a few days ago, I was thinking about starting a family with him and now, it was coming to pass. I couldn’t be happier.
We finally let go of each other when my stomach started growling. Kieran wouldn’t stop voicing his excitement and thanking me for coming into his life and I could say the same for him. After I was rejected, I thought my life was over when it was only just starting.
Once I was done eating, I insisted on going out. Being on the bed without moving for four days was tiring and the first place I wanted to go was the child care. I’ve missed the girls.
“Luna!” Dani and Allie screamed, running towards me but Kieran put his hand in front of me, stopping them from hugging me and they frowned.
“What are you doing?” I asked him through our mindlink.
“What if they hug you too tightly…they can hurt our pup p>
I rolled my eyes at him, “I’m sure that’s not how it works.” I told him, but he just murmured something along the lines of, “we haven’t been there before p>
Pushing his hand away, I let them hug me. “I can’t believe I survived not seeing for this long.” Allie said, her hand around me tightening.
Yea, I definitely missed her dramatic self.
My eyes darted around the room, looking for Nessa. I knew she was okay, but I still wanted to see her for myself. The girls caught my eyes and sighed. “She left not long ago.” Dani said.
“She’s feeling guilty because you weren’t out. And she wanted to tell you thank you for saving her life.” Allie added.
I nodded, I would see her tomorrow. I’m sure my strength would have returned and I would be back to doing my usual activity…maybe not everything.
“It was good seeing your faces again…we’re leaving.” Kieran chimed in, and Allie rolled her eyes at him. “You shouldn’t be selfish. We can share p>
“Yes,” Dani agreed, “there’s enough of Luna to go around.” She added and Kieran let out a playful growl, causing her to throw her hands in mock surrender.
I just laughed as he led me away after saying goodbye and promising to see them later. They were going to be so happy when I tell them that I was pregnant. Especially Allie who always talk about wanting a younger one.
But it would be cruel asking her parents to bring another child into this world and having them pass through the same fate as Kieran or Allie.
“Where are we going to?” I asked, when instead of his office or the room, we went the other way.
“To see the Pack doctor. We need to make make sure you’re okay to move around.” He said and my head snapped to look at him to see if he was joking but the seriousness in his eyes told me he wasn’t.
I took a deep breath, knowing no matter what I say, it wouldn’t yield a different result. And that he was only being cautious.
The Pack doctor stood up once he saw us, “Alpha…Luna.” He called bowing his head.
Kieran pulled a seat for me, before responding to him. He told him the reason why we were there…I’m sure he had a pretty good idea why. And while he spoke, I found myself drifting away. I was avoiding talking totylah just in case she was still mad at me but at the same time, I missed her.
“Does that mean it’s going to be like Lycan’s pregnancy p>
Lycan’s pregnancy? What were they talking about?
“Yes, Alpha. So instead of seven months like other werewolves, it’d be five months instead.” He explained, but before I could celebrate that, he continued. “The fifth month can be difficult, seeing how it’s the first p>
My eyes widened, “Difficult? What does that mean?” I thought.
Kieran’s head turned to me, he wore
a worried look. “Bella, breath.” He said softly, and the I released a breath I didn’t know I was holding “I’m going to be right here, every step of the way.” He promised, and I nodded.
The doctor concluded that for us to find out what we would be having…if we wanted to, we would have to come back when the pregnancy was up to a month. “Congratulations again, Luna p>
I just nodded at him and let Kieran lead me away. I was certain that I was so close to throwing up inside the doctor’s office, the smell of the disinfectant didn’t make it easy and it would be anything but cute if I did.
“How do you feel?” Kieran asked once we were out. He held my hand, and the warmth it provided offered me a sense of comfort.
“I’m okay…I think.” I started. “I’m happy, I’ve always wanted to start a family with you and I can have that now p>
He waited for me to continue but I
meeting
paused. I wasn’t lying about being happy. But at the moment, after the With the doctor, I think I was more scared than anything. carrying a child that is half Lycan and I’m worried something might go wrong if I wasn’t strong enough.
“We’ll be able to do it…it’s our pup after all.” Lylah’s familiar voice sounded in my
head, her voice low but it gave me just the courage I lacked.
“That’s it.” I said instead. “I can’t wait to have our pup p>
His hand cupped my face, “I love you so much, Bella.” He said.
“I love you, baby.” I replied, the same moment my stomach chose to growl again
and a wide grin covered my face.
“You should feed me, I’m eating for two now.” I said and he just laughed, leading by to the Pack house.
