Chapter 17
Chapter 17
Kaia’s POV
“Get your hands off my mate!” Lylah growled, coming to the surface.
Both Kieran and the woman froze before turning to me. The girl couldn’t be any older than I am, with a slender build and blonde hair which framed her heart shaped face.
Her eyes widened in surprise, and she took a step back, releasing Kieran from her hug. “It’s not what you think, Luna.” she said, her voice filled with genuine apology.
Kieran’s expression turned sheepish, and he rubbed the back of his neck. “Allie just arrived, she wanted to see you.” he explained, his eyes locked on mine.
That didn’t make any sense, so I waited for him to tell me who this ‘Allie’ girl was before I went all crazy on them.
“I’m his sister,” she said, and I felt a wave of relief wash over me, followed by a dash of embarrassment at my overreaction. Lylah’s growl subsided, replaced by a curious whisper in my mind.
“I’m sorry, my wolf can get out of control sometimes.” Kieran chuckled, coming to stand beside me, throwing his hand around my shoulder, collecting one of the glasses from me.
I’m surprised they didn’t break from how tight I held them
She just shrugged, a gentle smile playing on her lips. “I would do the same when I find my mate.” She said, “I’ve heard so much about you p>
“Uhm I trailed off.
The time we spoke about her, was when she told on them to their dad because she was angry at Ryder but I doubt she wants to be reminded of that now.
“You don’t have to lie about him. He probably told you an embarrassing story about me.” I blushed shyly at how easily she was able to read me.
Once the introduction was done, the three of us entered Kieran’s office. Allie, despite the fact she was high ranked, was also down to earth. She spoke to me as if we’ve known each other for a long time.
“Now that you’ve met her, can I have my mate back?” Kieran asked.
Allie shook her head, “No.” Before continuing her story. “Anyways, he got lucky and now I don’t have to listen to him whine about finding his mate p>
“I wouldn’t exactly call it whining.” He murmured, just as the door opened, revealing Dani and Caleb. The door creaked open, and the sound of their laughter carried in from the hallway.
Dani’s eyes widened when she saw Allie, “how come you didn’t say you were coming? When did you come here?” Dani asked.
“Ryder is in the kitchen…just so you know where to go.” Caleb chimed in, a hint of teasing in his voice.
Her face turned a bright shade of red, “I don’t know why you’re telling me that.” She said, and Caleb just laughed and sat across from us, with Dani sitting in between his legs, resting her back on his body.
For that moment, the five of us…four of them recounted their childhood tales while I listened.
Kieran was right, I liked Allie. And even though she thought was trying to hide it, she still has a crush on Ryder. She kept looking at the door and with each passing moment that he didn’t open the door, a look of disappointment flashed through her eyes.
“Why don’t we leave both of you to catch up with work while we give Luna a tour of the pack house.” Dani suggested, Allie nodding her head in agreement.
A frown crossed Kieran’s features, “I’m going to do that.” He said, his voice low but there was a hint of insistence.
“Yes, Alpha. We’ll do something else then p>
He looked at me, as if to ask me if I wanted to go and I nodded, ignoring Lylah’s protest to remain in his arms. One last kiss on his forehead that earned me a pleased smile, I followed the girls out of the office, still feeling his eyes on me as I left.
The three of us came to another room which was almost as big as the one I shared with Kieran. This one was covered in pink and pictures of Allie.
“Don’t judge, I’ve had this designed when I was still obsessed with pink-” Dani snorted, “like that has changed p>
She sighed, dramatically. “sue me. Pink is such a beautiful colour.” And there was no denying that. But I doubt Kieran would like his room covered in pink.
“Why do you have that look on your face?” Allie asked, going towards the window to open it.
I frowned, “was I that easy to read p>
“You wear your emotions on your sleeve.” Dani explained, proving her point.
“I’m just thinking about decorating Kieran’s room, but I don’t think he’s going to appreciate pink…or purple p>
Two of them scoffed together, “I think you’re underestimating the things my brother would do for you.” Allie told me.
Dani nodded, “and it’s not just his room now, it’s yours too p>
“And with the way he looks at you, he wouldn’t be able to say no to you. Hell, you can ask him to dance around in a thong and he would gladly do that p>
My mind went wild when Allie said this and images of Kieran wearing a thong with nothing else flashed in my mind. I felt turned on, and I blamed Allie. First she interrupted us and now she was putting pictures in my head.
“But you can’t deny that you don’t want to see him in it.” Lylah said, “I just know it’s going to be the best day of my life.” She sang.
When I finally snapped out of it, the girls were staring at me, they had amusement
written all over their faces and I covered my face with my hands.
“My wolf is a horny animal.” I defended before they had the chance to say
anything. Lylah just rolled her eyes but didn’t say anything.
“Oh my goddess!” Dani exclaimed, “You still haven’t slept with him p>
I looked away shyly before nodding.
“But you were going to, right?” Allie asked and my jaw dropped. “Was this part of her Lycan abilities or does she have superpowers of some sort?” I thought.
“When I mind-linked my brother earlier, he sounded frustrated. It was obvious I’d interrupted something really important and it makes sense now.” An apologetic smile on her face.
“You were going to let your first time be in his office?” Dani said and my smile dropped.
“It’s not my first time.” I told them, my voice low and barely audible.
I haven’t really thought about it, but now I wish I never had anything to do with Aiden and Kieran would be my first.
“I haven’t found my mate yet, and he’s not going to be my first…but he’ll definitely be my best and last.” Allie said, and her words made me a little bit relaxed. “Kieran would be my last and best p>
Noticing that my mood had changed, two of them assured me that I had nothing to worry about. It was at the tip of my lips to tell them about my life back in my former pack but I didn’t want their opinion of me to change, so I held it in.
“I have the best solution to our problems.” Allie announced. “We’re going to the city and who knows, we might find something sexy and in red.” She continued before we could ask.
“I agree!” Dani added before turning to me. “What do you say, Luna p>
“I guess we’re going to the city p>
