Chapter 81
Chapter 84
Allie’s POV
Dylan stood in front of me, barely leaving any space between us. I could feel my heart beating fast even though this was supposed to be a pretense. Rhea was dancing around in my head at the heat radiating from him.
He didn’t take his eyes off me, so he didn’t see the look Ryder was giving him.
“You’re here early.” He said, his voice barely above a whisper. And at this point, it was a good thing Kieran wasn’t here…we wouldn’t be here if he was though.
I cleared my throat, “I couldn’t wait to see you. I miss you p>
“Good thing you came, princess. I fucking missed you too.” His lips grazed my skin slightly, sending shivers down my spine.
I didn’t miss how Ryder’s frown deepened. Dylan was purposely calling me that because I mentioned in one of our conversations that I loved it when Ryder called me that. The girls also had shocked looks on their faces but quickly covered it up.
“H-how was training p>
My hand subconsciously reached out to him, touching the cut that was slowly healing just above his brows.
“Are you okay? How does this feel p>
He shrugged, “better now that you’re here. What do you say, I take a break and you check my body for other bruises?” He asked, his eyes meeting mine, he looked like he was trying to pass a message but my amazing self couldn’t help getting carried away.
If it wasn’t a conversation we had before now, I would believe that he had some sort of feelings for me.
“Maybe this wasn’t the first time he was doing something like this.” I thought.
I bit my lips, “let’s do that.” I replied, and a smile spread across his face.
But before Dylan could respond, Ryder grabbed my hand, pulling me with him away from the others.
I tried to remove my hand, but his grip remained tight on them, only releasing me when we were far from the others and my back was against a wall.
“Princess, really?” He spat, his eyes shooting daggers at me but I tried not to let it affect me. I could still feel the sparks his hand on mine left even though he was no longer holding me.
“Do you have a problem with that p>
He scoffed, running a hand through his hair. “I don’t have a fucking problem with it.” He said, raising his voice.
A pang of disappointment hit me, but what was I expecting? That he would eagerly announce that he didn’t want me with Dylan because he wasn’t done with me?
“Good, because my boyfriend can choose to call me whatever he feels like.” I told him, my voice rising to match his own, and he paused, his eyes widening in shock.
“You’re dating him?” He yelled, “you’re fucking dating him? Do you know who he is p>
“I don’t care who he is, all I care about is that he cares about me. Not that it is any of your business p>
He ran his hand through his hair multiple times, pacing in front of me. “Are you doing this to get back at me p>
I shot him a glare, after managing to hide the shock that came with his statement. “Not everything is about you, Ryder. I’m dating him because I really like him I started and hurt flashed through his eyes.
“You don’t mean that?” His voice came out low.
“The fact that I’m dating him or that I actually like him? Because I mean both of them.” I fired back. “And I’m not going to have conversations about my relationship with an outsider p>
He stood there for a few minutes, his eyes locked on mine, not saying anything. I caught sight of Dylan, his eyes trained on me. I knew he wanted me to talk to Ryder and there was nothing to worry about because Ryder wouldn’t hurt me…I was assured of that.
“Goodbye, Ryder.” I murmured.
When he didn’t respond, I made an attempt to move but he reached for my hand, sending shivers down my spine.
“Don’t date him.” I would’ve missed it if I didn’t have super hearing.
My feet stopped in their tracks, ignoring the ache in my chest, I turned to face him. “You can’t tell me what to do or not do anymore.” I told him.
He still didn’t leave my hands but that didn’t last long when Dylan’s familiar figure appeared in front of me, snatching my hands from Ryder. Two of them maintained eye contact, waiting for the first person to look away and Dylan did when he turned to face me.
His hand raised my chin so I could meet his gaze, a worried look, mixed with a concerned look was etched on his face.
“Are you okay?” He asked, softly and I nodded.
“Let’s get you out of here.” He said, taking my hand in his, he began to lead me away, until Ryder decided he wasn’t done.
“Let’s talk.” He demanded, looking at Dylan.
“Oh, we’ll talk alright! But that would wait after I take care of my girl. Now get out of my way.” Dylan commanded.
Ryder looked at him for a few minutes before moving out of the way for us to
leave. I felt him trying to mindlink me, but I blocked him out.
We didn’t stop until we got to Dylan’s room where I broke down in tears.
“I’m sorry,” I cried, “I thought I would be able to handle it.” I cried.
But he just shook his head and assured me that it was perfectly normal and that he was the one at loss, not me. Rhea didn’t say anything, but random sighs at intervals. I guess it was the same for her too.
Dylan used his thumb to softly wipe the tears away from my face. And when he was done, he wrapped his arms around me, my head resting on his chest as I inhaled his scent.
“Moving on is hard.” I said,
“It doesn’t happen in one day, that I can tell you p>
I pulled away to look at his face, “are you talking from experience p>
He shook his head, “of course not p>
We remained in silence again, his arms still around me…not that I wanted him to remove it. If there was an award for the most confused person to have lived, it’d definitely be me.
One moment I wanted Dylan, an image of his naked body was all I could think about and how I wanted to run my hands through his abs and the next minute, I was seeing Ryder, the hunger and desire in his eyes whenever we were together and the way that he makes me feel.
“I can hear your thoughts loudly.” Dylan said, pulling away to look at me. “I know you’re thinking that he doesn’t care that you’re with someone else, but I can assure you that’s not the case.” He continued, his hands on my side caressed my arms gently in a reassuring manner.
“Who needs Ryder when we have someone like him?” Rhea said. She didn’t sound convinced, and I don’t blame her.
“That doesn’t mean he wants me p>
He snorted, “no guy can look at you and say he doesn’t want you…except your brother p>
I cracked a smile when he said that, I could feel my face heating up. “What about
you?” I asked.
He didn’t respond immediately and my smile slowly faded away.
“Like I said princess, no guy wouldn’t want you.” He said.
The warm feeling I felt earlier returned, “prove it.” I said before I could stop myself.
“What p>
“Kiss me.” I demanded.
I waited for him to turn me down and tell me this wasn’t our agreement. That he
only wanted to help me get back at Ryder but that didn’t happen. Instead I felt his lips come crashing on mine.
