Chapter 128

Kieran’s POV

We arrived at the Pack a few hours later…about five or six hours. The warriors on patrol didn’t hesitate to let us in once they saw who it was and we went straight to Dylan’s house, with the aid of one of the warriors since we had no idea where he lived.

Pack members quickly surrounded us the moment the car stopped and it took all the self control I had and repeated reminders about why we were here from King for me to not turn back and teach them one or two lessons for the hell they put Kaia through.

“Alpha.” The woman, who I guessed was Dylan’s mom, greeted, bowing her head. I could see the slight resemblance between herself and Dylan…their eyes.

If she was surprised by my presence, she was doing a great job hiding it as she opened the door widely to let me in.

“Can I get you something to drink, Alpha p>

“Let’s cut out the drama, shall we?” I started, not in the mood for any pleasantries. “You know why I’m here, so let’s get to it p>

Being away from Kaia was already getting on my nerves and I couldn’t wait to get back to her, so wasting time was out of the question. Thinking about now, I wondered how I managed to survive so long before I found her.

Just as she opened her mouth to start talking, we heard a little commotion outside and the warriors standing outside informed me Aiden was here, just as the door swung open.

“Alpha,” he called. “You didn’t tell us you’d be coming,” he said.

Resting my back against the couch, crossing my legs, I took another look at him, there were bags under his eyes. Most of his wounds from the last time we met had disappeared but there were still fresh ones on his face…not that I cared.

“If I wanted to see you, I would have sent for you.” My voice was bored. “Alpha…the he started again, but we have had enough.

“Leave.” I commanded, my Alpha command slipping in. He murmured a ‘yes, Alpha’ and was gone.

I turned back to the woman in front of me, and she sat upright, making herself comfortable and ready for what I was going to ask.

“You are a healer? How’s that possible?” There were several other questions I wanted to ask, but my conversation with my Dad about the healer clan being destroyed leaving no survivors didn’t seem through anymore.

We have two proofs…for the ones we knew. If she managed to keep it a secret for this long, who knows how many people were doing the same thing.

“My mom was a healer, but she found her mate in this Pack and had me.” She started, “she died shortly afterwards p>

She also explained the reason she wasn’t a white wolf. Apparently, it was normal for wolves with any color to have the healing power as long as they had a parent who was a healer as well. But in her case, since her mother was the one with the ability, the things she could do were limited.

“I chose to keep it undercover because there are times it doesn’t work.” There was a sad smile on her face but it was gone almost immediately.

“Does this mean Kaia’s Dad is also a healer?” I asked. “I’m sure you know about her ability p>

If anything she said made sense, it would mean that the reason Kaia is strong is because her dominant parent…the man supposed to be her father was the one with the ability. But from the look on her face, it didn’t seem so.

“He’s not…the moon goddess isn’t that cruel p>

I frowned, raising my hand to massage my temple. “What the fuck is she going on about, right now?” King growled. “Do you think she’s playing with us p>

“If there’s one thing I’m certain about, it’s that he’s not a healer p>

I paused as a realization hit me. “Kaia didn’t get her powers until she left this Pack neither did she get her wolf because she was suppressed.” I started, moving to the edge of the couch, my gaze not leaving her. “I will not hesitate to snap your neck if you even think about lying to me p>

She nodded. “Why did you suppress her wolf? Was being the reason her mom is dead not enough p>

“I never intended for that to happen,” she said, “and I regret it. I swear p>

My brows furrowed, “you didn’t think separating her from her mate would drive her crazy p>

“I was just trying to protect her p>

A loud growl left my lips, my eyes darkened as King pushed himself forward. “What the fuck is wrong with all of you hurting her and then claiming to protect her?” My voice rolled off the wall. I was seething and a scared look flashed through her eyes.

“She had her mother, she didn’t need p>

“Lisa wasn’t her biological mother.” She said, and that killed the rest of the words in my mouth.

“What p>

No amount of massaging my temple was going to relieve me of the headache I now have. “What is she saying?” King asked me.

“She was never pregnant p>

There were several ways I saw this going, but none of them included what was happening at the moment. She began to explain how she never saw Lisa, Kaia’s mom, pregnant but all of a sudden, she had a

baby… which wasn’t a newborn. And it was fine because she just

assumed they had adopted.

“But when she healed someone at six years old, I began to pay attention to her p>

“Six years old? Do you expect me to believe that p>

“It’s the truth, Alpha. I didn’t want to believe either, but it was right in front of me p>

The door swung open and a man, about 5 ‘8 entered and it didn’t take long to know who he was. Even without Dylan’s mom telling me, there was nothing similar about Kaia and this man.

“Alpha…it’s a pleasure to have you in our home.” He said cheerfully but I just raised my brows at him and the fake smile was wiped away from his face.

“Why didn’t you tell me Alpha Kieran was here?” He whispered to her and she shifted uncomfortably.

“Get out.” I ordered.

“Y-yes Alpha.” And he was gone, leaving us alone.

She did a whole lot of explanation

which I tuned out at a point as I could already see Kaia’s reaction when she found out that the family she knew all her life weren’t her real family. She was going to be O heartbroken.

“You told Dylan to warn Kaia about a harm that was coming to her.” I asked, the

matter of her birth parents was going to have to wait for now.

“The witch who told me about suppressing her wolf saw a vision that someone

close to her was planning to hurt her p>

I want to talk to this witch p>

“S-she’s going to be here tomorrow, Alpha p>

Fuck! I didn’t want to have to come back to this Pack. So I knew I needed to finish

it once and for all. The next moment, I was picking up my phone to call Kaia. Bella,” I called, the conversation I just had made me tired. “Baby, are you okay?” She asked.

“I’m fine I paused. “I don’t think I can make it back today though. I want to meet with the witch in the morning and as soon as that is done, I’ll be on my way back home.” I explained

“Okay p>

“Bella…is everything okay? You don’t sound good.” I said, a little bit of panic rising within me.

“I’m scared.” I heard her say, and I was already on my feet.

“What happened?” I asked, “talk to me, Bella.” I said, already going crazy.

“There w-were…t-they took pictures of me.” My fist clenched, she didn’t need to explain further before I understood what she was talking about.

They were dead once I lay my hands on them. I then mind-linked Allie who assured me that Caleb was handling everything.

“Bella, I’m going to be there soon…I promise. Just listen to Caleb, okay p>

The warriors outside were ready to leave once gave the order. “You’re coming with me.” I said to Dylan’s mom, who didn’t have any choice as she got into the car. I prayed to the moon goddess that nothing would happen to her.

The drive back to my Pack was shorter than when we left but it still took a few

hours and the sight before me was bloody.

“Bella-” my voice called, shakily as I made a dash for the room.

“H-He’s here.” She said, the panic in her voice filled my chest with dread.

Shifting into my Lycan as I followed her smell to our room. But just as I got close, I

heard her scream and no doubt my life left my body.

“N-no p>

But as I got to the room, a glowing light filled my eyes as it surrounded everyone

in the room and Kaia was kneeling beside Dylan, her hand on his body.

What. The. Actual. Fuck!
