Chapter 119
Chapter 122
Dylan’s POV
“Well shit!” I thought, “I guess we’d be running home today.” I said, as I watched Aiden speeding away with the car.
He’d somehow managed to find out about my lie, that I knew where Kaia was all along and was mad. Ordering me out of the car was one way he was choosing to get back at me…I doubt it was going to be enough.
Watching him get beat up was so satisfying but I guess he didn’t think the same. The only thing I didn’t do, was actually talk to Kieran before he left.
“Let’s just sever our ties with them and leave.” My wolf said. “We were happier there.” He added.
I agreed, since I got back, I’ve had to deal with his backhanded comments on everything I do and as if that wasn’t enough, the paperwork I had to deal with… and still wasn’t done with, was as though he didn’t touch it while I was away. It was a miracle the Pack was still standing.
Shifting into my wolf form, I began running. The Pack where the meeting was held was a good distance from ours, about four hours which means I had about three and a half hours to run.
When I finally pulled myself into the Pack more than four hours later, it was already late, and Derek was waiting for me, a confused look on his face.
“What did you do to piss off Alpha Aiden this time?” He asked.
I swallowed harshly, trying to keep my breathing stable. “Fuck if I know.” I replied, glaring at nothing in particular. All that was going through my mind was to take a shower and get rid of the stench of sweat that now covered me
“Look, let’s talk tomorrow, I need to rest right now.” I told him, but he didn’t move out of the way, instead, he moved even closer.
“I’m sorry.” He apologized, grabbing me by my arm.
My brows raised slightly, maintaining my stance as he tried to pull me along with him. “Dude, what the fuck are you doing?” I asked him.
“I’m just following orders,” he replied. “I don’t know what you did to the Alpha, but he wants you to sleep in the dungeons tonight p>
Fucking unbelievable!
“You should’ve listened to me.” My wolf said, and ignoring him, I met Derek’s gaze. “Let me talk to him,” I demanded. “This must be some sort of misunderstanding p>
Derek shook his head, “he doesn’t want to see you.” Was his response as other warriors approached us, all of them wearing the same blank expression on their faces. Aiden couldn’t get any crazier than this.
I didn’t argue any further as I went willingly into the dungeon. The shock on the guards’ faces and other prisoners who recognized me was palpable as I entered into the dark and horribly smelling dungeon. Being the one behind the door reminded me of the first fews I spent in the Moonstone Pack.
Before he left, Derek put my hands in cuffs soaked in wolfsbane, hindering me from mind-linking anyone…not that I wanted to talk to anyone. Even if I wanted to, Kaia was Miles away and bringing her into this was the last thing I wanted to do. And my mom didn’t have any power to let me go, so I might as well make myself comfortable.
It wasn’t until the next day that Derek came back, throwing the door open. My wrist hurts like a bitch, it has burned badly from how long I was in the cuffs.
“Beta Dylan,” he called, bowing softly. And if I wasn’t in so much pain, I would’ve sent him flying.
“Get me out of here.” I ordered through gritted teeth.
“I’ll do that now, the Alpha wants to see you in his office p>
I ignored him, but still made my way towards Aiden’s office. I was getting a lot of
looks from members of the Pack and the reason wasn’t too far away. My wolf had retreated to the back of my mind, which made him unable to heal me.
Pushing the door to Aiden’s office open, he was wearing a proud smile which irritated me. He made his way towards me.
“Alpha p>
“You don’t look too happy…I wonder why that is.” he said.
But when I didn’t respond, the smile was wiped off his face. “That was just an example of the things you’re going to go through.” He told me. “So you better start getting used to it p>
Then, after a few minutes, he went back to his seat, “but I’m polite, so I’m giving you a way out.” My brows raised slightly, looking at him, waiting for him to give the way out of me sleeping in the dungeon with cuffs.
“Tell me everything there is to know about Kaia p>
“What p>
“You’re not deaf, so start talking p>
I scoffed. Kieran beating him to a pulp wasn’t enough to teach him a lesson that Kaia was off limits. The only reason he wasn’t dead was because Kieran wanted to attend to her.
“Did he think I was dumb enough to put myself through that same fate p>
“I’m sorry, Alpha. I don’t know anything about Luna Kaia.” He was in front of me in seconds, his hand holding my neck tightly.
“Then you will find out and report to me or you can say goodbye to the freedom you think you have.” He threatened, his eyes darkening and his hand around my neck tightened.
“Y-you want me t-to spy on her p>
“I don’t care what you call it, get me information on her p>
When he finally let go of me, I went straight to the house. This time, Kaia’s Dad was at home, but I just walked past him and to my room where as gently as I could to avoid going through much pain, I stripped out of my clothes and got into the shower.
Just as I finished getting ready, I heard a knock on my door and my Mom’s familiar smell filled my nose. Opening the door, I was met with a tray that contained most of my favorite food.
“Mom p>
“You should eat something.” She said, “I can’t believe Aiden would throw you in the dungeon.” A gasp escaped her lips when her eyes landed on my wrist, which was still not healing.
“I’m fine, Mom. It’s nothing.” I assured her, but she didn’t believe me, as she took my hand in hers.
“This isn’t fine.” She snapped. But what I didn’t expect was what happened next.
She shut her eyes, placing her hand
over mine and not long after, the same głow I could swear I’ve seen from Kaia’s hand began to radiate from her and the wound on my hand started closing up.
Different emotions hit me at once; pain from the wounds closing up shock that my mom had healing powers and I was only finding out now and confusion as to whether I possess the same power.
“You you are a white wolf!” I exclaimed, the same moment I felt my wolf return
and the pain in my hand completely gone.
She rolled her eyes, “you’ve seen my wolf before.” She reminded me. Right! She wasn’t a white wolf
“Then how? Am I a healer too p>
“Eat your food, you need to leave soon.” She said instead.
A frown appeared on my face, “leave to where p>
She took a deep breath like she couldn’t believe I was asking that. But what did she expect to happen when she drops something as huge as that on me? “Things will only get worse if you’re here.” She replied. “Remember to give Kaia my warning. I promise to explain everything later, but don’t come back until things settle p>
“Mom, you’re not making any sense right now p>
She pushed the tray towards me and more sternly, commanded me to eat. I didn’t refuse, the food I ate before the Alphas’ meeting had long digested and I was
starving.
“How will I know things have settled?” I asked her when I was done eating.
“You’ll know.” She replied.
I didn’t ask questions again, as I stood up, taking one last look at my room before
turning to leave.
“And Dylan,” my mom called. “Take care of Kaia like you always did p>
I nodded, without looking back again, I left the house and went towards the
borders of the Pack.
“I guess this was goodbye…for now.” I thought, before shifting into my wolf form.
