Chapter 123

Dylan’s POV

Traveling light had its peak as I didn’t have to worry about extra loads. The moment we left the Pack, I felt a wave of relief wash through me. The first thing I did was raise my wall so that no one would be able to mindlink me.

As I ran, I thought of everything, my mom’s power, her warning again. What exactly does she mean when she spoke about harm and protecting Kaia or what she meant by things would only get worse if I was there? Just exactly what was going on?

After taking breaks between my journey, I finally got to the Moonstone Pack. The warriors on patrol knew who I was now and let me in. The rest of the trip to Alpha Kieran’s office didn’t take long.

“I don’t care if you have to visit their goddess forsaken Pack and bring him here, do it. But I want him here by-” Kieran’s loud voice came as I swung the door open. They both turned to look at me.

“Alpha p>

“I was just going to have Ryder come drag your ass from your Pack.” He said, and although his voice was light, I had no doubt he was beyond serious. “But considering that you’re here on your own, you must have a reason.” Alpha Kieran continued, and I nodded.

Filling them in on what happened with Aiden once the meeting ended and Kieran let out a low growl when I mentioned how Aiden wanted me to be a spy for him.

“I should’ve just killed him,” he said.

Maybe not killing him, but I wished Alpha Kieran had beaten him to the point where all the screws in his head start acting right and he behaves the way an Alpha was supposed to. He rejected Kaia, he should stick with the decision.

“What were you going to talk about…at the meeting? It seemed pretty serious p>

I sat upright, “before that, there’s something else you should know.” I started, and both Alpha Kieran and Ryder straightened up in their seats. That was very much needed…it wasn’t anything they could guess, so they needed to be ready.

“My mom is a healer.” I said, “but she’s not a white wolf.” I added as the two of them looked at me like I had lost my mind.

“This isn’t the time for your comic relief.” Ryder told me.

I just rolled my eyes, “does it look like I want to meet the moon goddess today?” I deadpanned, because I was sure that’s where I would be going if I chose this time to share a joke.

“How’s that possible?” He asked.

I shrugged, and showed them my wrist that had been severely wounded by the wolfsbane and how I was just as confused as they were. I spent most of my life believing my mom was an ordinary wolf.

“And she also spoke about harm coming to Luna Kaia and her pups p>

“What does she mean?” Ryder asked.

I shook my head, “I’m not sure, she didn’t explain any further and I left in a hurry p>

“It’s settled then, we’ll be paying your pack a visit-” the door opened before he could conclude what he was saying and Caleb entered. A surprised look appeared on his face when his eyes landed on me but he didn’t comment as he placed a laptop on the center table in front of Alpha Kieran.

“You have to see this.” He said.

We all focused our eyes on the laptop as a video started playing. It was just like any other video of people entering and leaving the hall, but after a while it went off and the screen became blank and then it continued normally.

“It was the same thing for other angles of the event…except one.” He said, before

a different video went up. “This is the one that oversees the side door that leads to the restroom p>

From the video, we saw some girls going in the direction, followed by Kaia. Not long after, a man showed up too. From his back, he looked like he was well built and no doubt taller than was. And since I wasn’t exactly sure what we were looking at, my eyes remained glued to the laptop.

But it wasn’t long before I got my answer about what we were looking at when the man returned and my eyes darted towards Alpha Kieran and back at the video before it finally went blank like the other ones.

“Fucking hell!” Ryder exclaimed, his jaw dropping. “The Luna was right…what in the beezus is this? This is so freaky p>

The resemblance between him and Kieran wasn’t a lot and first was the scar on his face and some other tiny differences.

“There’s no way this is a witch’s doing.” Ryder said.

“Exactly what I thought.” Caleb agreed. “And with the way he stared at the camera, he wanted us to find him.” He added.

“What is going on here p>

“That, is our culprit.” Caleb replied, “the same person we’ve been doing everything to catch. But here he is, rubbing it in our faces that there’s nothing we can do to him.” He finished.

Alpha Kieran was in deep thought,

his eyes fixed on the screen which was now off. Everyone knew that was the first and only son of his father but with someone who looked like him and was hell bent on taking revenge on the Pack, it could only mean one thing.

“Ryder, from now until you get me something solid on my mother, she doesn’t leave your sight.” Alpha Kieran commanded. Then he turned to Caleb and told him the same thing, but with his Dad.

I nodded, that was very valid. They were the only ones who would have an

explanation for what was happening.

“Dylan and I are going to pay a visit to his Pack.” He said.

I paused, “What about Luna Kaia?” I asked. “If we’re all going to be busy, who’s going to watch her p>

He looked at me like he couldn’t believe I would even ask that. “She’s going with me? Going anywhere without her feels like an invitation to the idiots who have something against me p>

“Why don’t I watch her?” I started and his head jerked to me. “Going back to the Pack after leaving without permission is like asking for trouble p>

And my mom, as much as I was still wondering where she stood, with the whole warning and power stuff, said I shouldn’t be back until things were settled. And right now, things were the opposite of being settled.

He thought about it before he finally agreed…not without giving me several warnings…more like threats, but who’s taking note?

We made plans on how things were going to pan out. And the more we spoke, the more everything felt

real…Alpha Kieran was taking nonet

chances, especially when it came to his mate and his Pack, he would do whatever possible to keep them safe.

And fuck am I glad I was on his side.
