Chapter 127
Kaia’s POV
I was still not over the fact that my picture was taken without my knowledge and somehow, it was sitting on my bed. The girls were trying their best to comfort me, assuring me that nothing was going to happen.
Dylan moved closer to where we were sitting, his hands in his pocket, his eyes blank. “Caleb is getting the warriors ready.” He announced and I frowned.
“Warriors? Why p>
“It’s just to be careful.” He explained. “We don’t want to be caught by surprise. Not that we think they’re going to come or anything.” He added. I know he was trying to make me feel better but it wasn’t working.
My hand wrapped itself around my stomach, fear setting in. Several thoughts running through my head. “What if they actually come? What would happen to my pup p>
“Let’s just call Kieran, you’ll feel better if he’s here.” Allie suggested. And as if he could hear our conversation, the phone rang and his name was displayed boldly on the screen…he was the only one I call.
Lylah sighed heavily, she was also torn between wanting him to be our side and putting an end to the entire thing. But she was suggesting not telling him because she thinks we can handle whatever was coming.
“Bella,” he called, his voice sounding strained and my frown deepened. “Baby, are you okay?” I asked.
“I’m fine he paused. “I don’t think I can make it back today though.” My heart sank when he said that. “I want to meet with the witch in the morning and as soon as that is done, I’ll be on my way back home p>
“Okay p>
He didn’t respond immediately, “Bella…is everything okay? You don’t sound good.” I could hear the worry in his voice when he asked that.
I wanted to tell him it was only because I missed him and that I couldn’t wait to see him. But the moment I opened my mouth, something else came out.
“I’m scared.” I told him, my voice barely above a whisper and I heard shuffling on the other end of the phone.
“What happened?” He asked, “talk to me, Bella.” He said, more like begged. I couldn’t feel anything coming from him and the only time he blocks me out, is when he doesn’t want me to worry about how or what he was feeling.
“There w-were…t-they took pictures of me.” I managed to let out and I felt a sense of relief wash over me when I told him.
And for a few minutes, the only thing I could hear was his heavy breathing. But Lylah kept assuring me that I did a good job telling him.
When he finally replied, his voice sounded more controlled. “Bella, I’m going to be there soon…I promise. Just listen to Caleb, okay p>
I nodded, until I realized he couldn’t see me. He then ended the call but only after making sure that I was okay and also because he wanted to drive. Once I dropped the phone, I rested my head on Dani’s shoulder while her hand rubbed my arm lightly.
Talking to Kieran felt like a weight had been lifted off me.
“Ryder and I finally made up.” Allie announced after no one said anything for a while. I offered her a proud smile.
I know she was trying to take my mind off what was happening and I was grateful but it was all I could think about at the moment and she noticed it as well.
“I’m sorry p>
She shook her head, “it’s okay. This is already a lot to deal with.” She said and I nodded.
Time was going, Caleb and Ryder were still not back and with each passing second, the more my uneasiness grew especially as Dylan had us stay in the room. Sleep eluded me even though I was tired but anytime I closed my eyes to sleep, the image of him, the day of the meeting woke me up. The girls had fallen asleep beside me but Dylan’s eyes were glued to me.
“Do you need anything?” He asked.
I shook my head. The only thing I wanted was Kieran and he couldn’t get me that.
The door finally opened, and Caleb entered. “We’ve searched the entire territory, but we didn’t find anything.” He told us. “So you can get some rest, Luna. We’re going to take turns guarding the door p>
His announcement gave me some sort of relief that when he had one of the Omegas bring something for me and the girls to eat for dinner, I didn’t hesitate to finish it. My eyes were begging to get some rest
“Don’t leave, please.” I said to nobody in particular and both Caleb Dylan nodded.
I was woken up by loud screams…at first, I thought I was dreaming until even after woke up, I could still hear them. The girls were also

awake they stood at alerto net
My eyes finally landed on Dylan, who stood behind the door and two other warriors standing at the end of the room.
“What’s going on?” I asked, my voice on a full blown panic note. “We’re under attack p>
My eyes snapped wide as I felt my body stiffened and my muscles tensed with fear. My breathing quickened as I repeated his words in my head, which means the
screaming I heard were from the
members of the Pack. D
was
beside me in seconds, throwing his arms around me.
“Calm down Kaia, they’re not in the Pack yet.” He said. “Caleb and Ryder are making sure it doesn’t get here.” But that did nothing to calm me down.
“What about Kieran? Is he here?” I asked, but the look after I asked gave me my
answer.
“What are we going to do?” I asked Lylah, but there was no response, which only added to my fear.
The girls were struggling to remain calm even though they were failing miserably at it not that I blame them. I doubt they have experienced anything like this, since nobody was dumb enough to attack the Pack…until I came. Another piercing scream went up in the air but it was gone as soon as it came. Instead, a sound of something hitting the wall filled the room, causing us to pause and turn to one another.
Dylan and the other warriors rushed to the door, standing in a position that was ready to attack. I tried reaching Kieran but there was no response and the same thing with Lylah.
I could hear groanings outside the door and every now and then, they stopped. I felt a pang of guilt hit me, it was me they wanted, but a lot of warriors out there with mates, who were just as scared as I was, were fighting to protect me.
Suddenly, the door knob rattled and twisted, someone was trying to force it open. I held my breath, my heart racing as the struggle continued. Dylan pointed to the bathroom, whispering for us to lock the door behind us. But we had
barely taken two steps when the door swung open and we came face to face with the culprit.
Dylan and the warriors rushed to him, but he was fast, sending them flying. That
didn’t stop them as they got up again.
Allie let out a growl as she shifted into her Lycan, her size never ceasing to
amaze, but I couldn’t focus on that now as Dani also shifted, standing in front of
me.
Although they were just as terrified as I was a few minutes ago, they put their fears aside as they approached him, ready to attack.
Together, they attacked him, but he managed to escape their midst. His speed was unlike anything I’ve seen.
My brain was screaming for me to run, but my leg remained rooted in one spot even as he approached me, splashes of blood on his face and wounds on his body from where the guys got him.
“Enough playing around,” he growled. “If you want your friends to live, just come quietly with me p>
I looked around to Dani and the others who were sprawled on the ground, and tears welled up in my eyes. Lylah wasn’t saying anything and even if I shifted into
my wolf now, I wasn’t as strong as he was.
“Bella-” Kieran’s voice came.
“H-He’s here!” I cried, murmuring some unintelligible words, which to me,
sounded like begging for him to save me.
The man in front of me paused, his eyes darkened and he reached out to grab my hand but I moved back just as I saw Dylan stand up again, moving towards the man, who was focused on me.
Just as he reached out to strike the man, he turned back and I could tell what was happening, his hand stretched, as he grabbed Dylan by the neck, using his other hand…claws extended, he stabbed him in the stomach before dropping him.
I gasped, as Dylan’s body touched the ground. “No-no!” I screamed, running towards him, but that was the last thing I remembered.
