Ernest approached Elianna with the practiced poise of a man accustomed to dealing with high society. His voice, calm yet commanding, carried across the room. “Mrs. Harris, we are here on behalf of a client to deliver a special gift for your birthday,” he said, inclining his head respectfully.
The room buzzed with speculation.
What kind of gift could merit such an elaborate presentation?
