Despite hours of questioning, the interrogation yielded no results. In the end, the officers were unable to obtain any concrete evidence linking the siblings to Tessa’s disappearance.
“If you didn’t have anything to hide, why did you flee the moment you saw us?” one of the officers asked Lowe.
A brief look of guilt flashed across Lowe’s face, but he remained tight-lipped, refusing to provide any explanation.

Under the officers’ intense gazes, Lowe finally caved. “I ran because I was driving drunk. I thought you were going to arrest me for that.” That explained everything.
It had all just been a misunderstanding.
In the end, Lowe was charged with drunk driving. His driver’s license was revoked, and he was held criminally liable. He wasn’t going to be allowed to apply for a new license for the next five years.

Lowe reluctantly allowed Lily to pull him away, but kept his gaze fixed on Yelena. “Yelena, please! You have to find Tessa,” he pleaded.
Yelena ignored Lowe’s plea. Without saying a word, she made her way to the car that had arrived to pick her up, sliding into the seat and shutting the door behind her.
As she did, she locked eyes with a familiar, intense gaze—dark and deep, like polished obsidian.
Yelena froze, taken by surprise, but quickly regained her composure as she got in. “What are you doing here?” she asked.
Austin replied, “I was at the bar earlier. I saw you having a great time with your friends, and I didn’t want to interrupt. Later, I heard about your friend’s situation, and decided to come find you. Has she been found p>
