Jarvis, disagreeing with Callum’s hesitance, was about to speak out for Bella. Catching his intent, Bella quickly cautioned him with a discreet glance, urging him to hold back.
Jarvis, respecting Bella’s wishes, remained silent, subtly touching his lips with his fingers. Bella then flashed Jarvis a timid smile and averted her gaze. While Bella and Jarvis believed their discreet exchanges went unnoticed, Yelena had observed their interactions.
She looked at Elianna with a hint of compassion. Elianna’s affection for Bella was evident, despite their lack of blood relation.
Yelena wondered how Elianna would react if she discovered the complicated relationship between her beloved granddaughter and her real grandson. Choosing not to intervene, Yelena kept her observations to herself.
For the moment, Bella and Jarvis managed to maintain a facade, but Yelena sensed that any escalation in their antics could lead to dramatic consequences.
As Callum’s group departed from the festive gathering and neared their own home, Cayson suddenly gestured toward Austin’s residence with an exclamation of surprise.
Cayson’s sharp cry drew everyone’s focus. Only then did Yelena notice that a light was on in Austin’s residence.
Austin had given his staff holiday leave, so the house should have been empty by now. Why was the light still on?
A sense of unease crept over Donna. “Could someone have broken in?” she wondered aloud. Though their neighborhood boasted robust security, it wasn’t immune to anomalies.
“I’ll get the security team to check,” Cayson announced.
Yelena hummed in agreement while dialing Austin’s number, only to find his phone out of service.
The security team arrived promptly, and Cayson instructed, “Let’s go check it out p>
“I’m coming with you,” Yelena declared.

Cayson, always fiercely protective of his sister, felt his resolve waver the moment he saw the pleading look in her eyes.
Cayson looked at Yelena and said, “Alright, we’ll go in together. But you have to stick close to me. No wandering off, understand?” Yelena nodded, accepting his conditions eagerly.
Cayson realized she was appeasing him but let it slide; resolving the situation took precedence.
Together, they entered the house and ascended the stairs. Approaching the guest room, the light abruptly went out. Perhaps the intruder realized their approach or had fled by another exit. The possibilities loomed as they reached the doorway.
Cayson gestured for Yelena to stay back, positioning himself to protect her. He then signaled for the door to be forced open.
As the door burst open, a figure dashed out, launching into a swift attack on the security guards.
The ensuing scuffle showed that the bodyguard was outmatched by the assailant’s superior strength. Cayson’s brows knitted together. He hadn’t anticipated the person to be this powerful.
Worried for Yelena’s safety and unwilling to waste another second, Cayson’s voice turned urgent. “Yelena, run!” he commanded.

At the mention of her name, the attacker hesitated. Ignoring Cayson’s command, Yelena lunged at the assailant. It might have been her proximity, but Yelena’s familiar scent made the intruder pause momentarily. Seizing the opportunity, Yelena swiftly dislocated their arm. The person yelped in pain.
