At last, she had learned Johan’s name.
Johnny and Johan walked off, and Johnny couldn’t help but tease, “Since you left my place the other day, you’ve been coming around here quite often. Have you fallen for the girl we just met p>
“Her?” Johan shook his head, a bit incredulous. “No, that’s not it p>
Johnny smirked. “No? What standards do you have? She’s stunning, and she’s the daughter of the Barton family. You think she’ll like you just because you like her?” Johnny teased.
Johan’s brow furrowed. If it was about status, weren’t the girls his mother had introduced him to all from wealthy families? But he hadn’t cared for any of them!
Johan wasn’t concerned with background or appearance. What mattered to him was something deeper—how he felt! He had fallen for “Ellen” the moment he laid eyes on her.
“By the way,” Johan continued, “since you live nearby, do you know if there’s another girl from the Barton family besides the one we just saw p>

Johnny glanced at Johan, suddenly grasping his implication.
Was it possible that the person Johan had been eager to see wasn’t Ellen but someone else?

Just then, Maggie’s phone rang—it was Johan’s mother.
Initially, Maggie was reluctant to take Nicola’s call.
Ellen had expressed no interest in blind dates, and Maggie wasn’t about to push her.
All Maggie wanted was her children’s happiness; matching family backgrounds were a secondary concern.
Maggie planned to ignore the call by pretending not to hear the phone. But inadvertently, her hand slipped, and she hit the answer button.
