Chapter 101:
Yelena paused. She had told the family driver not to come and pick her up, and a ride from Austin seemed perfectly fine.
“Alright,” she agreed.
The two of them left together, and Bella, watching from a distance, clenched her fists so tightly that her nails dug into her palms. She couldn’t believe her eyes—Austin and Yelena actually knew each other!
And judging by the way he was waiting for Yelena, it was clear Austin had taken an interest in her.
The thought gnawed at Bella, a growing frustration building the more she dwelled on it.
After they left the campus, Austin had intended to invite Yelena for a late-night meal, but she politely declined, exhausted and ready to unwind in the comfort of her home.
Austin, understanding her need for rest, didn’t press the issue but proposed to find another time. He felt a deep sense of gratitude toward Yelena for the help she had given him, and he eagerly waited to find the right moment to show his appreciation.
When Bella returned home, she waited for what felt like ages before Yelena finally walked through the door.
Seeing her, Bella couldn’t resist the urge to throw in a sarcastic jab. “Oh, Yelena, you’re back at last! I was really starting to worry about you. I heard from some classmates that you left in a fancy car. Who knows? Those could be some real dangerous people p>
Yelena glanced at her, her eyes cool, seeing right through the false concern in Bella’s tone. “You’re overthinking. I just took a taxi home p>
For a moment, Bella was caught off guard, but she quickly snapped back, “A Porsche taxi? I’ve never seen one of those before p>

Bella, who was always chauffeured by the family driver, never had to worry about getting around on her own. Yelena, on the other hand, sometimes needed to go to her company office and didn’t want to use the family driver—it could expose her other identities, ones she wasn’t ready to reveal just yet. Plus, she had no desire to be around Bella, whom she found fake and insincere. It was better to keep her distance.
