Humphrey had caught wind that Cayson was planning to give the piece as a gift, and he couldn’t help but wonder if it was meant for him. The idea that this might be the very gift Cayson had planned for him made Humphrey even more eager to see it.
“Yes, my brother did get you a piece from Oaklyn. But there was a bit of a hiccup along the way,” Yelena said smoothly. “And I noticed something off with the piece p>

She was talking about one of her earlier works, and as she reflected on it now, she couldn’t help but see the flaws more clearly.

As Yelena shared her thoughts, Humphrey’s eyes lit up with excitement. It felt as though he had found someone who truly understood his passion.
“I know a little,” Yelena replied modestly.
“That’s fantastic! I’m quite fond of calligraphy myself. We should exchange ideas sometime,” Humphrey said, grinning from ear to ear.
“Absolutely. That’s actually why I wanted to offer you a gift—something I’ll write for you,” Yelena suggested.
Humphrey’s smile widened. “How thoughtful of you!” Although part of him was disappointed that he wouldn’t be receiving Oaklyn’s piece, he felt thrilled to find someone who shared his passion and couldn’t deny the rarity and beauty of watching calligraphy in action. Perhaps this wasn’t meant to be his moment with Oaklyn’s work after all.
Yelena motioned for the butler to bring over the ink, paper, and brushes she had asked for earlier.
The onlookers, who had been quietly observing, began to murmur amongst themselves. Was she really going to create something right then and there?

Was she trying to outdo Oaklyn? The nerve to perform in front of such a crowd was both admirable and slightly shocking. Bella, however, couldn’t help but think Yelena was making a fool of herself. This was bound to be a disaster.
Yelena didn’t even understand calligraphy.
Was she seriously trying to drag the Harris family’s name through the mud?
Bella felt her cheeks burn with embarrassment. She could hardly bear to call Yelena family.
“Yelena, stop this nonsense!” Bella called out, her voice dripping with faux concern. “Don’t you realize how foolish you’ll look? Aren’t you afraid of making a complete spectacle of yourself p>
Yelena turned to her, her gaze serene and unbothered. “If I make a fool of myself, it’s my problem, not yours p>
“But this reflects on the Harris family’s reputation…” Bella stammered, her words full of empty righteousness.
Yelena chuckled softly, her laugh icy. “If you actually cared about the Harris family’s reputation, you wouldn’t have done what you did p>
Bella’s face hardened, her mouth tightening into a thin line. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she muttered, her voice barely a whisper.
Yelena’s gaze remained steady. “I know exactly what you did p>
Bella’s expression darkened, but she remained silent, unable to respond. It would be better for Yelena to make a fool of herself in front of the crowd. After all, what could a girl like Yelena possibly know about the delicate art of calligraphy? What skill could she possibly possess?
