Before Jonathan could respond, Tatiana exploded, her anger boiling over. “It has to be that troublemaker Yelena setting Sonya up! What does she even know about composing? This whole mess is her doing! She must’ve stolen someone else’s song and left it there, just to set Sonya up! My poor daughter is just too innocent p>
“And now she’s the one getting caught in this mess. Damn it, if that little brat were here, I’d give her a piece of my mind!” Jonathan couldn’t help but feel it made perfect sense. It had to be like this, right? Otherwise, how could such a colossal mistake have occurred?
Sonya’s gaze flickered nervously, but luckily, her mother was quick to react. If it hadn’t been for her, Sonya wouldn’t have known how to handle her father’s questions.
She bit her lip in uncertainty before speaking, her tone innocent but tinged with worry. “I really don’t understand why Yelena would do this. I’ve always been kind to her. Why would she try to frame me like this? She’s going to ruin me. Everyone’s calling me a thief. How am I supposed to face anyone now p>
“That little troublemaker! We’ve done nothing but good for her, given her everything she needed for years, and this is how she repays us—by trying to destroy Sonya? Her heart is stone cold.” Tatiana seethed, her blood boiling the more she thought about it.
She wished she could give Yelena a piece of her mind, to lay it all out and make the girl understand just how much damage she had caused.
“Mom, what am I supposed to do now? The show is talking about disqualifying me, but Yelena is the one behind all this chaos. We need her to step up and set things straight. I can’t take the fall for this, or my future will be toast,” Sonya said desperately, her mind racing for a solution.
If Yelena took the blame, Sonya could clear her name and move on.

Jonathan echoed her sentiment. “Let’s track her down, and fast. We can’t let this drag on any longer.” His pride was in tatters.
The Roberts family had raised Yelena for years, and now she wanted to destroy Sonya? That was a betrayal Jonathan couldn’t stomach. It was clear now; Yelena truly wasn’t part of his family, and she never would be.
“Exactly. If Yelena takes the blame, I’ll be just another victim here, and everything will be fine. But she’s not even living with us anymore. Who knows if she’ll even listen to you and do this?” Sonya said, her voice tinged with worry.
Yelena wasn’t the fragile little girl she used to be. Every time they crossed paths lately, Sonya found herself on the receiving end of Yelena’s sharp tongue.
It made Sonya uneasy, wondering if she’d still be able to control Yelena.
“Don’t sweat it, darling. Yelena will do anything for money. You’ve seen her hopping from one side job to another, waitressing at every dive in town. Offer her five hundred grand, and she’d probably sell her soul,” Tatiana said with a shrug, unconcerned.
