“Don’t worry; the surgery went smoothly. Your mother has been moved to the observation room. She’ll wake up once the anesthesia wears off,” Yelena reassured her.
Frieda’s daughter’s face lit up with relief, though tears continued to fall.
“Thank you! Thank you so much p>
“I know you’re worried about your mom. Go see her,” Yelena encouraged, patting her on the shoulder.
The girl was indeed eager to see her mother. At Yelena’s words, she nodded solemnly and dashed off.
Yelena was utterly exhausted. After concentrating intensely on a surgery that lasted over ten hours, she was completely drained.
Yelena really wanted to drink a cup of latte right now.
Just then, as if summoned by her thoughts, she noticed someone holding up a cup of coffee to her.
Yelena looked up, and her gaze inadvertently met a pair of deep, mesmerizing eyes that seemed to draw her in like whirlpools.
She stared blankly at the newcomer, momentarily frozen.
“Coffee, don’t you want it?” Austin’s deep, magnetic voice broke her trance as he set the coffee in front of her.
For a second, Yelena was stunned, half-convinced she was dreaming, but the aroma of the coffee was unmistakable.

Yelena took a sip of the coffee and was pleasantly surprised to find it was the exact hot latte she had been craving.
Yelena half-jokingly wondered if Austin was a mind-reader. How else could he appear just as she was craving coffee, bringing her the exact latte she wanted?
“Long story, huh? Then don’t bother explaining,” Yelena said, weary and longing for sleep, not in the mood for lengthy or complicated stories.
Austin looked at her with an amused smile, appreciating her straightforward manner.
“Shall I give you a ride home p>
“No need. I drove here,” Yelena replied.
Austin frowned slightly, concerned. “Do you really think it’s wise to drive in your current state?” Before Yelena could respond, he added, “Driving while fatigued could be really dangerous p>

As they headed to the car, they found John already waiting in Austin’s vehicle.
“Yelena!” John greeted her warmly.
Austin shot him a look that seemed to question his enthusiasm. “What’s the matter with you?” he asked with his eyes.
John responded with a raised eyebrow, silently questioning Austin, “Did you tell her p>
Austin’s expression remained stoic, and John understood instantly.
John gave Austin a bewildered look. Austin had rushed over in a panic upon hearing Yelena was in surgery. He initially assumed Yelena was ill, and someone would be performing surgery on her, it later turned out that Yelena was the surgeon operating on someone else.
Austin had found the hospital director and quietly stood in the observation room, supporting Yelena through the entire procedure.
John thought Yelena would be touched if she knew this, yet Austin chose not to mention it at all.
John was about to reveal this to Yelena when Austin’s warning glance stopped him.
Respecting Austin’s decision, John held back, not wanting to stir up trouble.
