Megan watched Bella’s resolute departure and felt a surge of worry, fearing Bella might do something reckless.
She wanted to follow Bella, but with everyone’s eyes fixed on the scene, Megan hesitated to act recklessly.
Megan was extremely anxious. When she noticed no one was watching, she quietly made her way upstairs through a different route.
Jarvis, perhaps because of his closeness to Bella, paid particular attention to Megan.
He noticed Megan sneaking upstairs, stirring a mix of emotions within him.
By then, Megan had reached the upper floor. She entered Bella’s room without knocking, going straight inside.

“I’m here to stop you from doing something rash. You have a good life here. Why cause a scene by leaving? If you leave, aren’t you just playing into Bernice’s hands?” Megan pleaded.
Bella noticed Megan’s anxious expression, but she knew that Megan’s concern wasn’t genuine.
Megan’s worry stemmed from the fear that if Bella left, she would no longer be able to rely on Bella for financial support.
“So, you’re worried you won’t be able to get money from me if I leave?” Bella said.
Megan’s eyes flickered, though she would never admit to such motives. “I’m just concerned about you, really,” she said.
Understanding Megan’s true intentions, Bella decided not to waste more breath on her. “I wasn’t actually planning to leave. I was just making a point,” she explained.
Bella opened her suitcase to reveal it was lightly packed with only a few clothes and nothing else.
Seeing this, Megan exhaled in relief, her worries alleviating.
Convinced that Bella wasn’t truly leaving, Megan’s concern faded. Bella grabbed her suitcase and descended the stairs. By then, Katelyn and Bernice had already departed.
Bella had anticipated that. Katelyn’s strong-willed nature was evident, and when she hated someone, she wouldn’t stay anywhere near them. That was also why she had returned to the Harris family with her daughter even before finalizing her divorce.
