Katelyn hadn’t given it much thought before, but Yelena’s comments stirred unease within her. She now harbored suspicions about Bella influencing Bernice negatively.
“However, we lack evidence to definitively say it’s Bella,” Yelena said. “For now, keep Bernice away from her and observe any improvements p>
Katelyn nodded. “Thankfully, we’ve moved out now. Anyways, it’s late, so I’ll let you rest p>
“Good night,” Yelena replied.
As Katelyn left, she carefully closed the door behind her.
Just as Yelena was about to settle into bed, a sorrowful yet rough cry came from the door, sounding like a desperate howl.
Opening the door, Yelena was greeted by a soft meow that could melt anyone’s heart.
She looked down and smiled as Aus sauntered into the room.
“Aus, you’re quite the actor,” Yelena chuckled.
Aus ignored her comment, jumping onto the bed and curling up comfortably.
Yelena sat beside him, petting his head. “Why not sleep in your cozy cat bed? Why my bed p>
Aus merely licked his paw, looking utterly content.
“I’m going to sleep. You should too,” Yelena said, settling in for the night.
Although Aus couldn’t speak, he meowed in response, stopped grooming his fur, nestled into Yelena’s arms, and comfortably closed his eyes.
The next morning, Yelena moved carefully to avoid waking Aus, but the cat opened his eyes and watched her as she got out of bed. Yelena patted Aus’s head. “I’m going for a run. Want to come with me?” Aus seemed to comprehend her words, closing his eyes again as if to say, “You go ahead. I’ll stay here p>

Yelena laughed. “You lazy cat,” she said affectionately as she stroked his head and went to change.
The house was still quiet when Yelena went downstairs, with only the family’s servants bustling in the kitchen preparing breakfast. As she stepped outside for her morning run, Yelena noticed someone leaving the Harris mansion.
Shortly after, another figure emerged from a corner and confronted the first.
Megan, taken aback, looked at the man and frowned. “Why are you here p>
Harold sneered at Megan. “If I hadn’t come, would you have bothered to meet me p>
Megan sighed and said, “How much money do you want this time?” Reluctantly accepting her predicament, Megan braced herself for his demand.
Harold raised a finger. Megan gasped. “One million? Are you out of your mind p>
“I’m perfectly sane,” Harold said. “Bella lives a lavish life here, flaunting designer bags and luxury cars. It’s only right she helps me out p>
Megan whispered, cautious not to be overheard, “It’s true, but you can’t keep draining her resources. Even a gold mine runs dry someday.” She paused, hesitant to continue.
“What now?” Harold pressed, his eyes narrowing dangerously.
Megan reluctantly shared more. “Bella is in a precarious position. She was being scrutinized by other family members and nearly had to leave yesterday p>
Harold hesitated, then scowled, his voice filled with disdain. “She’s useless. A complete good-for-nothing! If the Harris family kicks her out, I couldn’t care less. Let her rot for all I care p>
