Aus leaped onto the treadmill and began to accelerate. As the speed increased, Lena struggled to keep up and was eventually tossed off by the whirling treadmill.
Fuming, Lena tumbled across the floor before regaining her footing. With a glare, she fixed her gaze on Aus, who was still sprinting carelessly on the treadmill. Lena let out a loud meow in protest.
Hearing Lena’s cry, Aus glanced over nonchalantly before hopping off the treadmill to explore other toys, clearly trying to provoke Lena further.
“I heard Aus yowling. Is anyone bothering him?” Donna entered the playroom, her attention quickly shifting to Lena.
Donna immediately noticed the necklace around Lena’s neck, furrowing her brows in confusion. She turned to Amilia and asked, “Amilia, did you put this necklace on Aus p>
Quickly, Amilia replied, “No, I didn’t do that.” Internally, the little girl considered that while she hadn’t done it, it might be an option for the future.
Donna then directed her gaze toward Yelena, hesitant to make accusations. She always viewed Yelena as someone who knew better and wouldn’t be reckless.
She asked, “Why is there a necklace on Lena p>
“That’s not Lena, Mom. Lena is over there,” Yelena said, pointing to the cat playing nearby.
Stunned by this revelation, Donna looked where Yelena indicated and saw Aus. Turning back to Lena, she realized there were indeed two identical white kittens.
Without Yelena’s explanation, Donna might have doubted her own eyesight.

“No, this one belongs to our neighbor,” Yelena responded.
“Which neighbor?” Callum interjected, confused. Besides the old Harris mansion, the only nearby residence belonged to Bethel Hewitt and her family.
All of Bethel’s children had moved abroad, leaving her as the only one still living in the house. She wasn’t the friendliest person and had a rather dull personality. Back when Callum was having renovations done at his new place, Bethel used to grumble daily about the noise, even though Elianna never voiced any complaints.
Still, Callum made sure the workers adhered to proper working hours. Even though Bethel was upset, there wasn’t much she could do about it.
Knowing the kitten was from a neighbor, Callum assumed it was Bethel’s and frowned.
Lena, feeling timid, quickly took cover behind Yelena. Clinging to Yelena’s pant leg, Lena climbed up her and started meowing.
Yelena then said to Callum, “Dad, it seems you scared her. It’s not Mrs. Hewitt’s cat. She sold her house and moved abroad to join her family p>
Callum, surprised, asked, “Really? When did she sell the house? I had no idea p>
Callum seemed caught off guard, as if this was the first time he was hearing of it.
“I mentioned it quite a while ago, but you were likely too distracted to remember,” Donna said.
At that moment, Callum recalled that Donna had indeed mentioned it earlier. However, he hadn’t paid much attention to the details at the time and had since forgotten the conversation.

Donna gave a knowing shrug, almost anticipating his usual response.
“Has our new neighbor settled in yet?” Callum asked.
Looking expectantly at Yelena, Donna recalled the last encounter with Austin from next door. His charm had prompted her to invite him over for some socializing at the Harris home, an invitation he had declined. Donna also seemed to recall having mentioned this to Callum, who likely had forgotten that detail as well.
