Given the Bowen family’s significant influence in Eighfast and John’s friendship with Austin, he was not someone they could easily irritate. John turned to Austin and asked, “What’s your take on this, buddy?” All eyes, including Bella’s, shifted towards Austin.
Bella gazed at Austin with a pitiful look, as though she might burst into tears at any moment.
Bella believed that her pitiful expression would raise sympathy from any man.

Bella stiffened at Austin’s words, her expression visibly tensed. Bella realized she had misjudged the situation. Austin was clearly different from other men she usually dealt with.
