Bella relayed to Monica everything that had happened recently. Monica’s face darkened with rage, her eyes blazing with fury as if a storm were brewing.
“Why didn’t you tell me about something as crucial as Yelena’s blind date with Austin?” Monica’s voice seethed with anger. She believed that had she known about it, she could have thwarted it.
Unable to hold back her anger, Monica vented her frustration on Bella, finding the situation absurd. Had she known Austin was the date, she would never have let Yelena have the opportunity. She would have seized it herself.

Bella had spent so much time on the phone with Monica today because she wanted Monica as her co-conspirator.
“You’re useless,” Monica said coldly.
Bella rolled her eyes. “Do you have any plans?” she inquired.
Monica felt her mind was in disarray, as if filled with fog, rendering her unable to think clearly. Still, she wasn’t about to admit that to Bella.
“Why should I tell you?” Monica retorted.
Bella scoffed to herself, convinced Monica was just bluffing and surely hadn’t come up with any plans. Nevertheless, Bella didn’t bother to call her out. She knew Monica would take action eventually, and she planned to sit back and watch.
After Bella ended the call, Monica immediately had someone keep tabs on Austin. She wanted to be the first to know when he and Yelena went to purchase their engagement jewelry.
The next morning, Yelena was gearing up for a run when she noticed Austin nearby in workout gear, warming up.

Aware of his intense gaze, Yelena kept her eyes forward, pretending not to hear him. Although she ignored him, Austin couldn’t help but find her utterly adorable.

“Yelena, you’re still up for a run today?” Donna asked with a smile.
“Yeah, I’m used to it,” Yelena replied.
“But did you run too fast? Your face is so red,” Donna asked, concern evident. “Are you okay p>
Yelena shook her head, a hint of shyness in her demeanor. “No, I’m fine. Just ran a bit too fast and got sweaty. I’m going to take a shower,” she said, heading upstairs.
“Donna, did you see that? Yelena and Austin were running together. They seem to be getting along well. But I’m worried if things can stay that way,” Katelyn said.
A flicker of concern crossed Katelyn’s eyes. Austin was a catch, far different from Moss, who had pursued Katelyn with ulterior motives to exploit her and the Harris family’s influence. However, the Barton family was the richest family in the country. At least they knew Austin didn’t want to be with Yelena for the same reason Moss married Katelyn.
