Ryann nodded enthusiastically, clearly impressed by Yelena’s expertise.
Just then, the door swung open, and Ellen stormed in. Her eyes locked on Yelena, her face twisting into an expression of disdain.
“What are you doing here again?” Ellen shot at Yelena, her voice sharp with accusation. “Are you following me now? Everywhere I go, you seem to be just a step behind p>
Yelena stood there, momentarily stunned by the hostility, and replied, “I couldn’t care less about what you’re up to p>
But Ellen, consumed by her own assumptions, was beyond reasoning. Her frustration bubbled over as she glared at Yelena, convinced that she was being shadowed on purpose.
The more she stewed on it, the more the anger festered. Finally, she spun on her heels and stormed out, leaving nothing but tension in her wake.

Ryann chuckled at that, her eyes briefly flicking toward Ellen’s disappearing back. Despite being roughly the same age, Yelena had a way of making it sound as if Ellen were much younger.
“Are you hungry? Let’s go grab something to eat. I’ve got a surprise for you,” Ryann suggested with a hint of mischief in her voice.
Intrigued by Ryann’s cryptic tone, Yelena agreed, eager to see what was in store.
Before long, they arrived at a restaurant, and Ryann led Yelena into a private room.
As soon as the door swung open, Yelena caught sight of a man standing by the window, speaking on the phone.

But just as he reached out, Yelena stopped in her tracks, holding him at arm’s length, much to his surprise.
He looked at her, perplexed.
Wasn’t she the same girl who used to cling to him when they were children, constantly asking him to carry her?
Sensing the unasked question in his eyes, Yelena smiled softly.
