Yelena reached into her pocket and pulled out a small bottle. “I have something that might help. You can take them back and try them if you want p>
Scarlet had been about to refuse, but something in Yelena’s expression stopped her.
For reasons she couldn’t quite explain, she found herself reaching out and accepting the medicine.
“Thank you,” she said.
Yelena gave a small nod.

Scarlet watched as Yelena jogged away, her eyes lingering thoughtfully. There was something different about Yelena. The first time they met, she had shown concern so naturally. “There’s no label, no source. Who knows where she got this from? You can’t just take random medicine p>
Elva was already preparing to toss the bottle away as she spoke.
“If something were to happen to you after taking it, it’d be a disaster,” Elva added firmly.
Elva could see that Scarlet was reluctant to discard the medicine. However, this could be a matter of life and death, and Elva couldn’t simply let Scarlet do as she pleased.
