Yelena gave her a simple answer. “About an hour, usually. You need at least thirty minutes of exercise to make it effective p>
Yelena kept it straightforward, not wanting to confuse Scarlet with too much detail. She didn’t mind the conversation at all, actually. There was something endearing about Scarlet taking an interest.
“I see. An hour, huh? Doesn’t that leave you exhausted?” Scarlet asked, her tone inquisitive.
Yelena shook her head, a smile tugging at the corner of her lips. “Not at all. I’m used to it. It feels just right p>
“Ah, youth really is a wonderful thing!” Scarlet sighed, wistful.
Her thoughts drifted briefly to Siena. If Siena were still alive, if she had married and had children, her child would probably be about Yelena’s age by now.
“Ms. Marshall, you just woke up and haven’t eaten yet. Be careful of low blood sugar,” Elva reminded, her voice gentle but firm.
For reasons she couldn’t explain, she didn’t want Scarlet and Yelena spending too much time together. There was something unsettling about it.

Elva knew that once Scarlet made up her mind, there was no shifting her. Trying to change her course would be like trying to move a mountain.

Yelena blinked in surprise. She hadn’t expected Scarlet to resort to such… childish tactics.
Elva’s brows knitted tightly as she stood off to the side, her lips moving soundlessly, trying to hold Scarlet back.
But Scarlet had already taken Yelena’s hand, effortlessly leading her toward the house.
“Let’s see what the chef has prepared for breakfast today,” Scarlet said lightly.
Yelena obediently followed, her steps falling in sync with Scarlet’s.
As they entered the dining room, Yelena took in her surroundings. Scarlet’s home wasn’t as extravagant as she had imagined. Instead, it exuded a warmth and comfort that felt surprisingly familiar.
For a fleeting moment, it felt like home—like she could turn a corner and see Donna walking toward her, greeting her with a smile, asking what she wanted to eat.
