Yelena walked alongside Austin, with the others trailing behind at a respectful distance. Nettie and Sylvia stepped out of the restaurant, their faces marked with complexity, clearly still processing what had just happened. Seeing Yelena and Austin so close to each other, they couldn’t help but feel a pang of jealousy.
“Sylvia, just look at them…” Nettie muttered, her voice laced with bitterness.
Nettie thought Yelena must have simply gotten lucky. She wasn’t one to put much effort into dressing up, leaving her face free of makeup and her attire plain daily. She didn’t possess the typical elegance of a noble heiress, so how had she managed to win Austin’s favor?
Sylvia softly patted Nettie’s shoulder, trying to console her. “Nettie, don’t dwell on it too much. Everyone has their own path. If Yelena and Austin are meant to be together, we should just wish them well.” As Sylvia spoke, she clenched her fists tightly, her nails digging into her palms.
In truth, Sylvia was also consumed by jealousy but never let it show.
As soon as Yelena returned to the Barton estate, she was informed that someone had sent gifts.

“I’m not sure how to repay such valuable gifts,” Yelena admitted, feeling a bit uncomfortable.
Maggie replied, “I heard you gave Scarlet some calming medicine, and she’s been sleeping much better since. Why don’t you take this opportunity to send her more? She might really appreciate it.” Noticing Yelena’s surprised look, she added, “Scarlet mentioned it when I waited for you and Austin to get the car.” It all made sense now!
Yelena had thought that Scarlet might have never gotten the chance to take the medicine since Elva hesitated to even accept it, but it turned out Scarlet had indeed taken it, much to Yelena’s surprise.

Yelena went upstairs to pack her luggage. In reality, she had only brought two sets of clothes and some medicine with her. She hadn’t anticipated accumulating so many items to take back with her. All of these items had been gifts from Maggie.
