The Sword Of My Heart: Marrying A Phantom Tycoon Chapter 73

Chapter 73:

Leaving the hospital, Amelia and Laura parted ways unhappily. Seated in her car, Amelia let her thoughts drift through old memories, feeling deeply thankful for how much she had changed.

After a while, her phone buzzed with a call from Wyatt. He explained he needed to leave on a business trip and wanted her to come along. Hearing that, she sped toward the airport, so intent on making it that she nearly ran a red light.

Once in the VIP lounge, she learned she would be traveling to Prevda with Wyatt. Still catching her breath from rushing, she shot him a look and let out a sigh. “A little heads-up would have been nice. I don’t even have a change of clothes with me.”

“You don’t have to prepare anything when you’re with me,” Wyatt replied, his tone easy.

His words brought a faint blush to her cheeks. Before she could reply, a staff member arrived to inform them it was time to board.

Inside the first-class cabin, only Wyatt, Amelia, and Davin were present. Wyatt wasted no time. He set a laptop before Amelia and showed her a document. “Here’s the Prevda proposal. Take your time with it.”

Switching to work mode, Amelia focused on the document. Reading through the details, she realized Wyatt’s objective was to determine whether he should invest in a new resort in Prevda. After scanning line after line, her eyes began to ache. A quick glance up revealed Wyatt and Davin still absorbed in work. She pushed through her fatigue, unwilling to sit idle next to her boss.

It wasn’t until the plane was preparing to land that they closed their laptops. Wyatt turned to Amelia, asking for her take on the resort project.

“I think the project has real promise, but we need to visit the site before making any decisions. Factors like the landscape, accessibility, and local culture all matter,” she replied.

“Once this assessment is over, if you find it feasible, you will be in charge of the project,” Wyatt said.

“Wait, me?” Amelia was shocked.

Wyatt’s nod was all the confirmation she needed, and a ripple of nerves ran through her. Handling something so big, especially as a newcomer to the company, seemed overwhelming.

As they exited the airport through the VIP channel, Amelia spotted a tall man striding toward them from a distance. Jordy Green came into view. He was Holley’s son and two years older than Wyatt. He had always looked up to Wyatt, admiring his sharp mind and ambition.

Catching sight of Jordy, Wyatt paused and frowned. “What brings you here?” Although Wyatt’s words carried his usual composure, Amelia sensed an unfamiliar warmth threading through his voice.

“If your mother hadn’t told me you were coming to Prevda, were you planning on keeping it a secret from me?” Jordy said.

“I just didn’t want to trouble you,” Wyatt said.

“It’s no trouble at all.”

Jordy knew Wyatt’s personality well and chose not to press further when Wyatt fell silent. Davin approached with a nod, greeting him politely. “Mr. Green.” He then accepted the car keys Jordy handed over.

Following Davin’s example, Amelia greeted him as “Mr. Green,” catching Jordy off guard. “No need for that! If you’re going to marry Wyatt, you’re practically family. You can call me by my first name,” he said.

His words left Amelia a little flustered. Before she could respond, a lighthearted voice chimed in.

“All right, enough teasing. You’ll have her turning red.”

Wyatt’s words only seemed to heighten Amelia’s embarrassment.

“Okay, I get it, I’ll behave,” Jordy said, breaking into a laugh.

Holley had already told Jordy about Amelia when she returned to Prevda after meeting her. As a talented designer who valued freedom, Jordy respected Wyatt’s decision to marry Amelia soon.

Still, hearing about Wyatt’s business trip to Prevda with Amelia sparked Jordy’s curiosity, prompting him to come to the airport himself to see the person who had caught Wyatt’s attention. Upon seeing Amelia, Jordy understood why Wyatt had made that decision.

Jordy smiled and asked, “If you don’t mind, may I call you Amelia?”

A friendly smile appeared as she replied, “Of course. That’s what everyone at home calls me.”

Jordy’s grin grew wider at her answer. “Now we can address each other by our first names.”

Amelia chuckled and called him “Jordy,” which made him beam with joy.
