Chapter 457
Chapter 457:
When Wyatt heard the sharp knocking at the door, he quickly ended his phone call.
Gently holding Amelia back as she started to get up, he said, “Stay here. I’ll handle it p>
“Miss Chadwick, your behavior is disturbing our guests. Please stop p>
The hotel manager, visibly anxious, cast a worried look at Brielle, but before he could finish, a bodyguard shoved him aside.
“Out of the way p>

The bodyguard barked, “What are you standing there for? Move it p>
“What do you think you’re doing p>
The door flew open, and Wyatt’s gaze turned ice-cold as he took in the crowd gathered outside.
Brielle, who had been brash moments earlier, softened her tone the instant she saw Wyatt. “Mr. Stewart, my father sent me to bring Miss Flynn to him. We would appreciate your cooperation p>
“Get lost,” Wyatt snapped.
Brielle’s heart skipped at the sight of Wyatt’s handsome face, but his cold attitude left her humiliated.
She said, “Mr. Stewart, Mrs. Stewart compromised critical technical data from the Chadwick Group. She needs to p>
“Shut up!” Wyatt’s voice cut in, sharper now.
He had no patience for Brielle, but the moment she started pointing at Amelia, he couldn’t hold back. “Watch your accusations. You’re claiming my wife leaked your company’s technical secrets — where’s your proof p>
“Nothing like this ever happened before she accessed the tech center’s top floor. The moment after she showed up, it did. Who else could it p>
“You were on that top floor today, too, weren’t you?” Wyatt countered.
Seeing Amelia emerge, Wyatt immediately pulled her into his arms, shielding her. “I told you not to interfere. Why are you out here p>
Brielle watched as the man who’d been icy moments ago turned gentle for Amelia. Jealousy flickered in her eyes.
“Mrs. Stewart, you—” Brielle began.
“Brielle, are you certain you want me to go to the Chadwick family?” Amelia said coolly.
Caught off guard by Amelia’s bold words, Brielle felt a jolt of panic.
But this was her only shot.
She had already handed the technical data to Elmore, never expecting him to patent it overnight.
Shepard was already investigating the breach. If she didn’t pin this on Amelia now, she feared Shepard would uncover her involvement.
Desperate to deflect suspicion, she doubled down on forcing Amelia to face the Chadwick family.
Wyatt had initially planned to call Barrie, but after seeing Amelia’s expression, he abandoned the idea and left the hotel with her.
By the time Amelia and Wyatt arrived at the Chadwick residence, it was three in the morning, yet the place was brightly lit. As Amelia stepped inside, every gaze fixed on her.
Though Weston had met Amelia before, her presence still sent a quiet thrill through him. The next moment, Brielle spoke up.
“Amelia, why did you leak the Chadwick Group’s technical data p>
The breach had cost the Chadwick Group dearly, and Weston’s expression turned complicated as he said to Amelia, “Mrs. Stewart, is this retaliation for what happened with Katrina p>
The room went still at Weston’s words.
Amelia blinked, momentarily puzzled, but as the meaning behind his question settled in, she let out a disbelieving laugh. “Retaliation? Mr. Chadwick, have you done something to wrong my mother p>
Without waiting for Weston’s reply, she continued, “I saw Brielle on the top floor before I went up there today. If we’re talking about a leak, isn’t she also suspicious p>
Brielle bristled. “Don’t talk nonsense! I’m a Chadwick. Why would I leak my own family’s confidential information p>
In that moment, she was silently relieved that she had told Weston ahead of time that she’d gone to the top floor. Though he had been displeased, he had let it go after she coaxed him.
But Amelia’s words still made Weston glance at Brielle, his gaze narrowing.
Noticing his scrutiny, Brielle felt a spike of panic. She looked at him, eyes wide and pleading. “Dad, you don’t think I would do this, do you?” Her voice trembled, tears gathering.
Weston, flustered, hurried to reassure her. “I didn’t say that p>
As Brielle spoke, her gold pendant slipped from her neck, catching Amelia’s eye.
Last time, at the banquet, the dim lighting had obscured it. But now, with Brielle standing so close, Amelia could clearly see its design — it matched the pendant she had worn as a child.
“Where did you get that pendant?” Amelia demanded.
