Chapter 512
Chapter 512:
The document Amelia clutched was a stock transfer contract of the Chadwick Group. Yet the most startling part was spotting her own name inscribed on it.
Amelia began, “Shepard, this p>
“Keep going. We’ll talk after you finish reading all the documents,” Shepard interjected.
At Shepard’s prompting, Amelia laid aside the first document and moved on to the second, then the third.
Beyond the Chadwick Group shares, the remaining files were all about properties and land. At the very bottom rested a sleek black bank card.

Everything in these documents was already under Amelia’s name.
After several moments of stunned silence, Amelia pushed the pile back toward Shepard. “I can’t take these p>
Shepard wasn’t the least bit surprised by Amelia’s refusal. The longer he spent with her, the clearer her kind nature became to him. Inwardly, he couldn’t resist comparing Amelia to Brielle.
If Brielle were presented with such things, she would seize them without hesitation and demand even more. That was the very reason he had once vehemently opposed giving Brielle any stock. It wasn’t the partitioning of the Chadwick family assets that made him do that; it was whether the recipient was deserving.
This time, when Weston resolved to bestow fifteen percent of Chadwick Group shares upon Amelia as a gift, Shepard had no objections.
“These are your wedding gifts,” Shepard said.
Noticing her still-confused expression, he added, “You’ll be marrying Wyatt in ten days. I know possessions don’t interest you, but having them will elevate your standing as well as that of the Stewart family p>
Though Amelia disliked admitting it, Shepard’s reasoning rang true.
After pondering briefly, she fixed her eyes on Shepard and said, “I’ll accept the estates and land, but not the Chadwick Group shares p>
“I heard Wyatt transferred thirty percent of the Stewart Group shares to you as a gift?” Shepard asked.
When Amelia nodded, Shepard continued, “The Chadwick holdings are scattered, and we cannot equal Wyatt’s portion, so we can only make up the difference with land and properties. Amelia, please accept them; they represent our family’s goodwill p>
Realizing this had been a collective decision by the Chadwicks, Amelia at last yielded under Shepard’s persistent persuasion and accepted everything.
Wyatt had been waiting inside the bedroom for Amelia. When Amelia entered holding the thick bundle of documents, he hurried forward to relieve her of them.
“What are these?” he asked.
“You’ll know once you take a look at them p>
At Amelia’s words, Wyatt flipped one open casually. The more he read, the more shocked he grew.
“Shepard handed you a third of the Chadwick fortune?” he asked.
“Shepard said they’re gifts for me p>
Staring at the heavy stack of documents, Wyatt suddenly felt the crushing burden of responsibility settle on him.
Three days later.
Inside a concealed gambling den downtown.
“Bitch, you betrayed me p>
Kylo’s hand clamped tightly on Dayna’s throat, his eyes burning with venom.
After fleeing the suburban warehouse that day, authorities had assumed Kylo had vanished from Kretol, but he had actually remained concealed on the outskirts. His hidden casinos thrived on his skill in digital systems. After police raids destroyed his earlier dens, he had secretly rebuilt several new ones.
At first, Kylo had grown suspicious when Dayna returned to his side, but as his establishments stayed untouched, his suspicions faded.
As for Dayna, she hadn’t immediately informed Darwin of Kylo’s whereabouts because she wanted to lure out Kylo’s bigger connections.
Once she amassed enough evidence, she tipped Darwin off without delay. Every one of Kylo’s freshly founded casinos was stormed, and his refuge was exposed.
Trusting that the most perilous place was the safest, Kylo had concealed himself inside those very dens. He had evaded capture this way before, but fate failed him this time.
Using digital tracing, he discovered the locator chip in Dayna’s phone.
Dayna’s pale lips curled in grim satisfaction when she saw his furious gaze. “You’re finished p>
Her words only tightened Kylo’s grip.
When her face turned ashen and her eyes rolled back, he released his hold slightly. As soon as she caught her breath, his hands constricted again.
After endless torment, agony clouded Dayna’s gaze. She begged weakly, “Please… just kill me p>
“A swift death would be too kind. How dare you deceive me? I’ll make sure you suffer beyond imagination p>
“Boss, the police are here p>
The guard’s warning brought a shadow to Kylo’s eyes. Yanking Dayna by the wrist, he dragged her toward a secret passage. But when he got out, the exit was already surrounded by the police.
“Kylo, you’re surrounded. My advice is p>
“Stay back, or I’ll end her life!” Kylo shouted.
