Chapter 465
Chapter 465:
“What do you expect from me? That I’ll just accept you as my father right now?” Amelia cut Weston off gently before he could finish.
Though her voice was steady, Weston could hear the trace of bitterness beneath her words.
He wanted so badly for Amelia to accept him, but as he looked at her face, he found himself speechless.
When Weston didn’t respond, Amelia continued, “Get some rest. I’m leaving now p>
She turned and walked out without looking back. Weston opened his mouth to call after her, but no words came.
Amelia could feel his heavy gaze on her back, but she kept moving forward.

Wyatt, waiting by the hospital room door, stepped toward her the moment she emerged. Shepard and Weldon, nearby, looked at her with hopeful eyes.
But Amelia only murmured to Wyatt, “Let’s go,” and headed straight for the elevator.
Seeing this, Weldon instinctively moved to follow, but Shepard grabbed his arm and stopped him.
As Amelia and Wyatt neared the elevator, Weldon grew restless and tried to pull free.
“Shepard, why are you holding me back p>
“Pressuring her now will only make her feel worse,” Shepard warned.
Weldon’s expression flickered with frustration and helplessness.
Back in the hospital room, the brothers found Weston looking weary and defeated.
Thinking of everything Weston had done, Weldon couldn’t stop himself from saying, “Feeling down now? You should’ve realized your mistake a long time ago. Who was the one who refused to believe p>
“Enough, Weldon!” Seeing Weston’s face darken, Shepard shot Weldon a sharp look to silence him.
Weston said quietly, “Weldon is right. I brought this on myself p>
Despite Shepard’s earlier warnings that Brielle was an impostor — even after being shown proof — Weston had refused to listen.
Every time he thought back on his stubbornness, regret tore at him. But it was already too late.
Hearing Weston’s dejected tone, Shepard said gently, “Dad, I’m sure Amelia will come around eventually p>
“Really p>
Weston, who had been slumped a moment before, lifted his head at once.
Seeing that flicker of hope in his father’s eyes, Shepard nodded. “Amelia’s kind. If you show her genuine care, she’ll accept you. Just give her time p>
Weston’s mood slowly steadied at Shepard’s comforting words.
Amelia, unaware of their conversation, was lost in her own thoughts.
“Was I too harsh?” she asked Wyatt on their way back to the hotel, unable to quiet her mind.
Wyatt replied softly, “It’s natural for you to react that way p>
“But he did save me. Still, the idea of accepting him so easily feels like p>
“It feels like you’re betraying your mom?” Wyatt finished for her.
Amelia nodded, and Wyatt’s tone grew even gentler. “If your mom were here, I think she’d want you to follow your heart. My advice? Do what feels right. Whatever you choose, I’ve got your back p>
At Wyatt’s words, Amelia didn’t answer. She simply leaned lightly against his shoulder.
Wyatt wrapped an arm around her and pulled her close.
The scent of him settled her restless thoughts.
“Hold on p>
As the hotel elevator doors began to close, a voice called out.
Amelia quickly pressed the open button.
A woman in a sleek black spaghetti-strap dress hurried toward them, rolling a suitcase and flashing a grateful smile. “Thank you! I would have had to wait forever for… Wyatt p>
Hearing the familiar voice, Wyatt turned toward the woman.
Nora slipped off her sunglasses.
“Miss Griffiths p>
Amelia, standing beside Wyatt, caught the unmistakable warmth in his voice.
“Hey, stop calling me that. It’s so formal. Just call me Nora,” Nora Griffiths said with a smile.
Wyatt smirked. “Says the woman who used to demand I call her formally p>
“That was ages ago! Don’t you dare p>
“Wyatt, do you know this lady?” Amelia asked.
