Amelia pulled the golden wire tighter, scraping the man’s skin; crimson seeped slowly from the wound.

Overwhelmed by the sting, the man was terrified.

The captive Amelia held was the leader of these street thugs. Watching their leader being held hostage like this, the other thugs froze, unsure of how to react.

Laura’s fury burned so fiercely that her eyes turned scarlet. Without warning, she flung the camera she gripped straight at Amelia’s head.

Amelia shifted instinctively. Afraid she might truly slit the man’s throat, she swiftly retracted the golden wire back into the bracelet. The man seized the chance and pinned Amelia with one arm.

As they reached the door, Amelia patted Wyatt’s shoulder, signaling him to stop. She then glanced at Laura, who was pinned by Wyatt’s bodyguards, and asked Wyatt, “Do you have anything to do with Jaxton’s death p>

Wyatt’s eyes widened, startled by her question. He turned toward Hiram and asked, “Is Jaxton dead p>

Hiram was equally shocked. He instantly reached for his phone to place a call.

“Jaxton’s death has no connection to me,” Wyatt declared firmly, his face serious.

Laura shouted, “Lies! You sent killers after my son! You did that but refused to admit it. You are a coward p>

Laura’s glare was venomous as she struggled wildly, wanting to hurl herself at Amelia and Wyatt. But the bodyguards held her back.

Wyatt had no wish to argue, but hearing her accusations, he still said, “Believe me or not, I’ll repeat it once only: I never asked anyone to kill your son p>

“If not you, then who? You are just lying p>

Wyatt disregarded Laura’s frenzied yelling and carried Amelia out of the room.

When the door shut, Hiram sneered at Laura, “You ran a company, yet can’t tell when you’re being played. Fool. No wonder the Morrison family collapsed p>

After leaving the room, Wyatt wanted Amelia checked at the hospital. But Amelia insisted she was unharmed and preferred to carry on with the wedding.

Within two hours, every guest was notified that the ceremony would resume.

This time, the proceedings were completed without disruption.

As Wyatt and Amelia sealed their kiss on the platform, the hall erupted with applause.

During the toast, Carlee stood close to Amelia and murmured with lingering fear, “I was terrified earlier. I never anticipated you’d be swapped p>

“More lavish than what you gave me earlier today?” Carlee asked.

Carlee lit up with delight and turned toward Kelsey and Nora, exclaiming, “You all heard him, right? You’ll testify for me p>

At that moment, Hiram hurried over to Wyatt and whispered a message in his ear.

Thirty minutes later, Amelia and Wyatt entered a hotel suite.

Laura was bound to a chair, with Mindy on the floor beside her.

On the way here, Amelia had discovered that Mindy was Laura’s niece. The Butcher family had long been in decline, relying mainly on the Morrison family in recent years. Hence, when Laura sought Mindy’s aid, Mindy had no choice but to agree.

Even knowing she would face dire consequences afterward, Mindy still helped Laura.
