Chapter 528
Chapter 528:
On the stage, Wyatt stood in silence, poised and expectant. He wore a sleek, ash-gray suit that complemented the color of Amelia’s wedding gown.
As “Amelia” approached with measured steps, Wyatt, typically calm and collected, felt an urge to move forward, eagerly closing the distance between them.
Guided by the officiant, Weston carefully placed Amelia’s hand into Wyatt’s. Per the ceremony’s customs, Weston was meant to walk away now. Yet, gazing at the familiar face that stirred his past, he couldn’t resist saying to Wyatt, “You had better cherish Amelia. If you ever cause her pain, I’ll stop at nothing to make her leave you p>
Wyatt, hearing the warning, replied with quiet confidence, “Don’t worry; I will never give you that opportunity p>
“Now, the couple will exchange their rings p>
After Weston took his seat, Carlee swiftly approached, carrying the rings. Wyatt reached out, and once Amelia slid the ring onto his finger, he gently held her hand, ready to put on her ring for her.
But as he grasped her hand, a flicker of doubt crossed his gaze. Something felt wrong.
Wyatt had a habit of playing with Amelia’s fingers during long drives, knowing their feel better than she did herself. This time, her hand felt strange.

Carlee, holding the ring tray, noticed Wyatt’s pause and shot him a curious glance. The guests, seeing that, grew visibly confused.
“Now, the groom will place the ring on the bride’s p>
“You’re not Amelia!” Wyatt suddenly declared.
His words stunned the crowd. The woman before him, masquerading as Amelia, flashed a strained smile. “Sweetheart, what are you talking about p>
“She never calls me that!” Wyatt exclaimed, seizing the imposter’s wrist. “Who are you p>
“I didn’t think you would catch on so fast,” sneered Mindy Butcher, the woman posing as Amelia, as she peeled off her 3D-printed mask in front of the shocked guests. Her face, though beautiful, paled in comparison to Amelia’s.
As Mindy discarded the mask, chaos broke out at the venue. Shepard and Weldon charged onto the stage.
“Where is Amelia p>
Wyatt’s once-warm eyes now blazed with a chilling intensity as he glared at Mindy. His stare was lethal, as if it could obliterate her on the spot. Mindy’s heart quaked under his gaze, but she defiantly said, “I won’t tell you. I p>
Before she could finish speaking, Wyatt’s hand shot to her throat. His eyes burned with murderous intent, looking at her as if she were already dead. As his grip tightened, Mindy struggled to breathe.
“Calm down! Finding Amelia comes first!” Shepard intervened, halting Wyatt from choking the only lead to Amelia’s whereabouts.
At the mention of Amelia’s name, Wyatt released his hold. Mindy crumpled to the floor, coughing violently. Tears streamed from her eyes as she gasped for air, but despite Wyatt’s relentless questioning, she refused to say anything.
“Seal off the hotel. No one leaves until I give the order!” Wyatt said.
He had reserved the entire Apex Grand Hotel for the occasion. Security was posted at every exit, initially to block intrusive reporters, but now it served a different purpose.
No matter who had taken Amelia, one thing was clear — she was still in the hotel.
Yet, with its vast grounds and thousands of rooms, locating one person was daunting.
“Mr. Stewart, we found a hidden chamber in the lounge p>
After learning Amelia was missing, Hiram led a team to the lounge where she had been. A thorough search revealed a concealed room behind a wardrobe. Other rooms, too, contained similar hidden spaces.
“Where do these secret rooms lead p>
“They all lead to the same place — the hotel’s back garden p>
The Apex Grand Hotel’s crown jewel was its ever-blooming back garden, where the evening’s banquet was held. Adjacent to the garden were the hotel’s exclusive VIP suites.
After a brief pause, Wyatt ordered Hiram and Davin to lead a team to search the suites, room by room.
Hiram sprang into action, but Davin hesitated. “Mr. Stewart, those suites house today’s distinguished guests. Searching them like this might offend… I’ll go now p>
Under Wyatt’s glacial stare, Davin’s objections faltered. He gave a slight nod and quickly led his team away.
In a top-floor VIP suite, Amelia stirred, her senses clouded.
“You’re awake p>
Amelia turned toward the voice, startled. Seeing the figure before her, her eyes widened in disbelief. “It’s you p>
