Chapter 432
Chapter 432:
“Mr. Stewart, should we help her?” Barrie briefly wavered, uncertain whether Joselyn’s proposal carried sincerity, his eyes flicking to Wyatt with hesitation.
Wyatt hesitated only a heartbeat before stepping forward and discharging his firearm.
The black eagle trailing Joselyn abruptly shifted its course.
“Aim for the eyes p>
Neither gunfire nor sedatives seemed to hinder the creature. Following Wyatt’s direction, everyone directed their shots at its eyes.
When Wyatt pierced one of its eyes, its shrill wail rang across the mountain ridges.
That bone-rattling shriek crawled down the spines of Barrie and the rest.
Recognizing the futility of clashing with Wyatt and his companions, the eagle wheeled several times overhead before leaving.
Only at that moment did Joselyn exhale in relief and sink to the ground.
Compared with the night before, her appearance was pitiful now, her skin marred by scattered gashes. Still, her wounds were trivial in comparison to Marc’s, hers barely surface-level.

“What are you doing p>
Observing Joselyn cut her finger and guide it toward Marc’s lips, Wyatt grasped her wrist and posed the question.
As her blood dripped to the ground, Joselyn’s gaze brimmed with frustration. She snapped at Wyatt, “Do you realize how rare my blood is? If you want him alive, release me p>
Wyatt’s features darkened with tension, yet hearing her statement, he released her wrist.
With care, Joselyn allowed a few drops of her blood to slip into Marc’s mouth. Marc’s eyes gradually fluttered open.
At the sight of Marc regaining consciousness, Wyatt let out a relieved sigh and inquired, “Are you okay p>
“Relax, with my blood inside him, he’ll be fine!” Joselyn said.
Hearing Joselyn’s claim, Weldon interjected, “Is your blood some miracle elixir p>
Though Weldon’s words were only a joke, Joselyn answered with a serious expression.
“It may not be exactly a miracle elixir, but it’s not far off,” she explained to Wyatt and the group. Since childhood, countless extraordinary mystical herbs had been part of her diet, transforming her blood into a universal antidote.
Marc, having regained a sliver of strength, muttered faintly, “If that’s true, you’d better keep that a secret, or someone might bleed you dry.” Even he felt the urge to request a sample of Joselyn’s blood for study.
But Joselyn merely smirked at his caution, her tone lofty. “Unless I choose, no one will be able to get my blood.” As soon as she finished speaking, the arm-length centipede crawled from her hair, causing those nearby to recoil instantly.
“You said you know where the thousand-year-old wildroot panax is,” Wyatt stated.
“I do, and I’ll guide you as promised, but I have one condition,” Joselyn replied. Before Wyatt could respond, she continued, “Upon finding the wildroot panax, I get half of it p>
Though Wyatt had anticipated this, a frost coated his expression. “You didn’t say that before p>
Joselyn’s expression stiffened faintly. “Without my lead, you won’t be able to find the wildroot panax. A half-share is reasonable if you intend to use it to save someone p>
Instead of answering her directly, Wyatt turned his gaze to Marc. Only after Marc gave a slight nod did Wyatt consent to Joselyn’s condition.
Despite the overgrown woodland, Joselyn navigated with certainty, easing the trek for Wyatt and his companions.
However…
“This is what you call knowing the way?” Weldon barked at Joselyn, fury blazing in his eyes as his body continued to sink. Wyatt and the others withheld their words, but the chill in their eyes was directed squarely at Joselyn.
Had she not been mired in the swamp as well, they would have suspected she had led them there on purpose.
Confronted by their stern looks, Joselyn rushed to defend herself. “When I last passed here, this swamp didn’t exist p>
Hearing her words, Wyatt asked coldly, “When exactly was the last time you were here p>
“Three months ago p>
“You’re certain p>
Could such a massive swamp truly appear in just three months?
Seeing Wyatt’s doubting stare, Joselyn bobbed her head fervently. “I swear, when I was here last time p>
But before she could finish speaking, a bodyguard shrieked.
“Damn, there are even crocodiles here p>
Weldon blanched at the sight of a crocodile moving toward him.
Reacting by trying to dash, he forgot he was stuck in the swamp. At that moment, Wyatt yanked him away in time.
However, Wyatt’s action had caused him to sink even deeper.
They were immobilized, while the crocodiles moved freely. Dread drained their faces pale when they watched the crocodiles approach.
Then, a flute’s melody floated into the air.
Everyone instinctively turned toward Joselyn.
From nowhere, Joselyn had pulled out a flute. As she played, the crocodiles gradually swam away.
“You can actually do something like that?” someone asked.
“Just focus on finding a way to free us!” Joselyn said.
When she stopped playing the flute, the crocodiles crept back toward them. She instantly pressed it to her lips to play again.
