Kelsey stuffed her phone back into her pocket and knocked.

“I’m on it!” said Weldon as he bolted toward the elevator.

A few minutes later, he returned with the hotel manager by his side.

After Shepard gave a hurried explanation, the manager nodded and quickly handed over the key card.

As soon as the lock clicked open, Shepard pushed the door open wide.

“Amelia, Wyatt p>

His voice trailed off.

The trio’s expressions froze in disbelief when the room appeared completely empty.

With dread building inside him, Shepard snatched out his phone.

“Let me try calling Wyatt p>

The moment he pressed call, a ringtone buzzed from the bedside table.

Following the sound, they found both Amelia’s and Wyatt’s phones lying untouched on the nightstand.

“I want to check the surveillance footage immediately!” demanded Shepard, his voice cutting like ice.

The door had been locked from the inside.

Amelia and Wyatt couldn’t have vanished from a locked room, could they?

Even if they had left, they would have taken their phones with them.

That missing footage was too suspicious.

Because Marlon had arranged all the reservations, the manager had had no idea of Shepard’s and his companions’ identities.
