Chapter 488
Chapter 488:
“Weldon, who’s at the door?” Amelia asked as she approached the entrance.
When she spotted Della, a flicker of surprise crossed her eyes. “Della, what brings you here p>
“I heard from Kurt that you had settled into this apartment, so I brought some health tonics and remedies for you,” Della replied.
She nodded to the driver behind her, who quickly opened the trunk. Soon, Amelia’s living room was brimming with an assortment of products.
“Amelia, is there anything you would like to eat? I can grab something for you,” Weldon said, sensing that Amelia and Della might need a moment alone.
“Nothing specific comes to mind p>
“It’s alright. I’ll find something you will like p>
Amelia smiled at Weldon’s thoughtfulness. “Thanks, Weldon p>
Weldon grabbed his keys and stepped out, giving Della a polite nod as he left. Noticing Della’s eyes lingering on Weldon, Amelia told Della about his connection to her.
Learning that Weldon was Amelia’s brother brought Della immense relief. She didn’t have to worry about anyone stealing her son’s beloved now.
“Amelia, I visited the hospital last night and gave Wyatt a stern talking-to. Don’t let his foolish actions upset you and affect your health,” Della said firmly.

Amelia went quiet, expecting Della to push for reconciliation with Wyatt, but the topic never resurfaced.
When Weldon returned, Della prepared to leave. Seeing this, Amelia stood to see her off.
Della clasped Amelia’s hand gently. “Rest easy, dear. No matter what happens, I’ll always be on your side. If Wyatt doesn’t offer a proper explanation and apology to you, don’t forgive him p>
Though Amelia knew Della’s words were partly meant to lift her spirits, they still warmed her heart. “Thank you, Della p>
Della patted her hand softly, then turned to Weldon. “Thank you for looking out for Amelia, Mr. Chadwick p>
“Mrs. Stewart, please just call me Weldon. It’s my duty as her brother to care for her,” Weldon replied.
Despite his reservations about Wyatt, Weldon held deep respect for Della, and her kindness toward Amelia only increased his respect for her.
Della smiled and nodded at his words.
After Della left, Weldon grinned at Amelia. “Della seems to treat you well p>
“She is truly wonderful to me,” Amelia agreed.
Honestly, Della was the ideal mother-in-law. Amelia had heard tales of feuds between mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law in affluent families, but Della had always been warm and supportive toward her.
“So, are you thinking of visiting Wyatt at the hospital?” Weldon asked.
Before Amelia could answer, the doorbell chimed again.
“Della, did you forget something—it’s you p>
Amelia opened the door, expecting Della, but found Nora instead.
“Sorry to intrude, Amelia. Can we talk?” Nora said.
Before Amelia could respond, Nora added quickly, “It won’t take long — ten minutes, tops p>
Unwilling to let Nora into her apartment, Amelia paused, then said softly, “Meet me at the café around the corner. I’ll be there soon p>
“Alright p>
Nora left promptly.
Amelia, still in her casual loungewear, got changed and made her way to the nearby café. Noticing her departure, Weldon followed closely.
“Weldon, the café is just around the corner. You don’t need to come with me,” Amelia said with a light chuckle.
“No way. What if that woman gives you trouble p>
Despite her protests, Weldon was adamant about accompanying her, a choice that would later prove vital.
Since Nora had requested a private conversation with Amelia, Weldon stayed in the café’s main dining area, not entering the private room.
“Amelia, I came to clear up things about Wyatt and me,” Nora said. “Whether you believe me or not, there’s nothing inappropriate between us. I p>
“I know,” Amelia interjected, her voice steady and composed.
Nora blinked, caught off guard. “You know? Then why are you still p>
“Still making a big deal out of it?” Amelia finished her sentence for her.
“That’s not what I was trying to say,” Nora quickly said.
Noticing Nora’s flustered expression, Amelia gave a faint smile, her gaze tinged with a chill. “I’m upset, but it’s not about anything between you and Wyatt p>
“Then what is the reason?” Nora asked instinctively.
Amelia only smiled, offering no reply to that question.
“Nora, if you’re here to clarify things to me, I’ll tell you I believe there’s nothing between you and Wyatt. If there’s nothing more, I’ll be going p>
With that, Amelia stood from her seat, ready to leave.
Just as she approached the private room’s door, it burst open abruptly.
“Who are you?” Nora exclaimed, stepping protectively beside Amelia as several men appeared.
The leader of the men remained silent, glancing at a photo in his hand.
Pointing at Amelia, he ordered, “That’s her. Take her p>
