Chapter 139:

Once Wyatt finished speaking, Davin and Lucian each produced the folders they had brought along.

Davin handed over a thick stack of papers, which Wyatt immediately passed to Amelia. She instinctively refused, saying, “These look like company files. I don’t think I should be handling them p>

“They’re not for the company. Everything here is meant for you,” Wyatt said.

Confused by what he meant, she took the documents from him. Her eyes drifted over the first page, and she quickly turned to him.

“Everything I own is listed right here,” Wyatt said after noticing her gaze.

Amelia could easily discern that it was a detailed account of his assets, including all his funds, real estate, stocks, and investments. Still, a question lingered. Why was he revealing all of this to her?

Then, Wyatt collected another set of documents from Lucian and set them down for her to see.

What sat before her was a property transfer agreement.

Lucian himself had drawn up the contract, and one signature from Amelia would immediately make half of Wyatt’s assets legally hers.

Lucian had been utterly shocked when he received Wyatt’s instructions for this. The Stewart family was a prestigious lineage, with wealth accumulated over generations. Half of Wyatt’s net worth was more money than one could spend in a lifetime.

Yet Wyatt was prepared to give all that to Amelia. Only then did Lucian truly grasp how much Wyatt treasured her.

Wyatt slid a pen across the table to Amelia, his tone gentle. “This is my gift to you p>

“Didn’t you already give me a gift for our marriage?” Amelia asked.

When he had returned the hundred million to her, he had called it a gift. That was the only reason she had accepted it. Why would he give her more?

Every part of Amelia showed she wanted to refuse.

Wyatt gave a patient nod. “That time, I only handed over a small piece of what I meant to give you. What’s in front of you now is the real gift. Go on and sign it p>

Davin and Lucian watched the exchange, barely able to hide their astonishment. Despite handing away such immense wealth, Wyatt sounded as if he were talking about a small matter.

What happened next left them even more astounded.

Amelia slid the pen aside, her resolve clear. “I won’t sign p>

Having seen her answer coming, Wyatt let out a soft sigh and tried again. “It’s normal for a husband to give gifts to his wife. You p>

“But a normal gift wouldn’t be this expensive!” Amelia’s words cut him off, gentle but firm. She noticed Wyatt gearing up to argue, so she added quickly, “Wyatt, this is just too much for me. I’d appreciate it if you could respect my decision not to accept this p>

Those words ended the discussion. Wyatt had nothing left to say.

In silence, he placed the property transfer deed back into the folder and handed it to Amelia. “Since you don’t want to sign, I respect your decision. But the offer stands. Keep this, and sign it whenever you’re ready p>

Realizing this was the last time he’d bring it up, Amelia accepted the folder. Seeing that the men had business on their minds, she walked away with it and left them to their meeting. Both Davin and Lucian rose from their seats to say goodbye to her, treating her with a new level of respect now.

Upstairs, she tucked the folder away with her brooch, locking both items safely. No part of her had ever intended to touch Wyatt’s money, but the thought of his gesture made her happy.

When Wyatt eventually returned to the bedroom, he found Amelia already asleep. Subconsciously, he moved quietly, not wanting to wake her. He settled under the covers. Instinctively, she rolled over and nestled close to his chest. Her peaceful breaths filled the silence, and as he watched her, his heart softened.

Sleepless nights were all too familiar to him, and nothing the doctors did had helped for long before. But somehow, simply holding Amelia in his arms helped him sleep.

Tonight proved no different. Her quiet presence lulled him into an easy sleep quickly.

By three in the morning, Wyatt woke with a start. Amelia shivered beside him, brow furrowed, soft cries slipping from her lips. He reached for the bedside lamp and turned it on, concern lacing his voice. “Amelia, are you alright p>
