Della thought for a moment after hearing that. She then set down her coffee, answering, “Kelsey, you’re an exceptional woman, and any other man would be lucky to have you as their wife p>
“But my heart tells me Wyatt’s the only one for me!” Kelsey insisted, not seeming to catch the refusal in Della’s voice.
A weary sigh escaped Della as she said with a hint of resignation, “Wyatt is already married p>
Had things been different, and Wyatt unattached, Della might not have refused Kelsey. Still, she knew Wyatt had already laid his heart bare for Amelia, and together, Wyatt and Amelia had endured hardships no one else could understand.
Kelsey had mustered all her courage to meet Della today, never expecting her heartfelt proposal to be turned down so quickly. Stubbornness flickered in her eyes, and she continued, “Della, you know Amelia can’t have children. Wyatt deserves to have children. Don’t you mind that p>
“Whether or not Amelia is able to become a mother, she remains Wyatt’s wife. So, Kelsey, I must ask you to never bring this topic up again p>
With that, Della turned away and left without glancing back. Watching Della’s retreating figure, Kelsey could only bite her lip in silent frustration.

Well before takeoff, a message from Davin had reached her—Jewell had convened a shareholders’ meeting along with Conroy to announce that Rory had secured the project with Summit Capital.
Amelia managed to arrive at the conference room just as Jewell said, “Dad, since Rory secured this project, isn’t it right for me to step in as the acting CEO p>
“Both Mr. Mills and Mrs. Stewart are managing this project together. Securing the project with Summit Capital isn’t Rory’s achievement alone,” Davin interjected before Amelia could get a word in.
Jewell shot him a sharp look. “Shut up. This meeting doesn’t need your input p>
Without wasting another second, Amelia placed her contract with Denny right in front of Conroy, laying out every detail about the terms Rory had offered Peter. She then said, “Conroy, Summit Capital was meant to be our business partner. The terms Rory offered them are completely unfair and will hurt the company in the long run p>
Her hope was that once Conroy heard the truth about this, he would support her side.
Yet, to her shock, Conroy pushed the contract away and declared in a steady voice, “Jewell will take over as the acting CEO of the Stewart Group p>
The delight on Jewell’s face sparkled after he heard that. Julius and his supporters glanced Amelia’s way, their expressions smug.
“This isn’t fair!” Amelia ignored the others and fixed her gaze on Conroy. Had all her efforts still failed to protect what rightfully belonged to Wyatt? Would Conroy always favor his son no matter what?
