Chapter 239:
“Did you know your father put thirty million into the Morrison Group in secret?” Wyatt said, putting weight on the word “secret p>
“That just doesn’t sound like something my father would do,” Amelia answered right away.
She had always figured Ricky would steer clear of the Morrison Group’s mess rather than throw money their way.
“I wanted to gather more details before bringing it up, but I thought you might need this for your board meeting,” Wyatt said.
Amelia gave a thoughtful nod. “This is exactly the kind of information I need right now p>
Facing a board loyal to Ricky, Amelia could already picture the pushback she’d get on the matter of those sixty percent shares. No solid plan had come to her yet, but Wyatt’s revelation sparked an idea. Ricky’s allies would not take kindly to being kept in the dark about a secret investment. She knew this could be her chance to get what she wanted.
With her bodyguards following, Amelia made her way from Hillside Villa to a downtown café. The drive took more than thirty minutes. Stepping into the private room, she saw Dalia waiting with three men she didn’t know well.
Bryce Francis sat on the left, his large frame and cold eyes giving him an intimidating edge. Next to Bryce was Collin Jenkins, who came off as slow at first glance, but his sharp glances told a different story. To Dalia’s right was Granville Powell, distinguished in gold-rimmed glasses with a scholarly presence. Granville gave Amelia a quick, careful once-over as she walked in.
After Dalia made the introductions, Amelia greeted the men in turn. Currently, the Flynn Group’s board consisted of eight members, including Dalia and Ricky. The three other board members hadn’t even bothered to accept Dalia’s invitation. Despite that, the turnout was better than she had expected.
Bryce was the first to speak. “Mrs. Stewart, Ms. Kirby has already filled me in. I’m a straight shooter, so I’ll only say what’s on my mind. If it’s not to your liking, just know I mean no offense p>

Amelia sat down and remained silent, prompting Bryce to continue. “Your mother left those sixty percent shares to you, but you haven’t managed the company for a single day. Frankly, I think you’re better off staying on the sidelines and forgetting about the shares p>
“Mr. Francis, are you aware that my father secretly invested thirty million in the Morrison Group?” Amelia interjected.
“What did you just say?” Bryce’s cheeks burned red as his eyes narrowed with suspicion. “Don’t you think framing your father like this goes too far p>
“It’s the plain truth. If you doubt me, Mr. Francis, you’re free to call my father and confirm it yourself,” Amelia replied.
With Amelia looking so calm, Bryce felt the edge of belief creeping in, and his frustration grew stronger. Still, reminding himself of his agreement with Ricky, he replied coldly, “Even so, it hardly changes things. Dayna and Jaxton are engaged, and with the Morrison family facing problems, Ricky would naturally offer his help p>
Choosing not to argue further with Bryce, Amelia turned her attention to Granville and Collin. “Mr. Powell, Mr. Jenkins, I’d like to hear your thoughts on this. Was my father’s investment in the Morrison Group ever cleared by the board p>
